Nokia is ready to sell its N1 Android tablet outside of China (starting in Taiwan)
Nokia released its N1 Android slate in January, but only in China, where the device is wildly successful. Now, Nokia is finally ready to launch the tablet in other markets. The company today introduced the N1 in Taiwan, during an event full of music and dance performances (you can watch that below).

Taiwanese customers will be able to buy the Nokia N1 starting May, for around $268 (8,190 TWD in local currency). It's not clear exactly when the N1 will be available in other regions, but it should happen in the near future. However, Nokia may not plan to launch the tablet all over the world (for example, the US might not get it).

Running Android 5.0 Lollipop with Nokia's own Z Launcher on top, the N1 sports a 7.9-inch screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio and 1536 x 2048 pixels, and is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 CPU clocked at 2.3 GHz. The tablet also features a 5 MP front-facing camera, an 8 MP rear camera, 2 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of internal memory (non-expandable). The N1 has a 6.9mm-thin aluminum body, and comes with a 5300 mAh battery. Check out our Nokia N1 hands-on for a closer look at the device.

Do you plan to buy a Nokia N1, assuming it's going to be launched in your region?

LOL Nokia is not ready to sell N1 in anywhere Chinese company are ready to do that (foxcon if I'm right). Nokia is dead at least former Nokia and N1 is the proof of it cause if you remove the Nokia logo and turn the screen off it's an iPad with runs Android although it's a really good tablet is nothing special or got nothing from Nokia quality just a Chinese tablet with Nokia logo and good price.

IPhone is a cheap build phone for me specially the materials and I admit that N1 is one of the best in its price range and yeah its not a total iPad but it's almost the same design with the same look. Hey don't get that in a way that i think Chinese companies are bad cause they made most of the phones good or bad. And about Apple products i think Apple could make a lot better phone or tablet but only delaying the upgrades for profit like using one gigs of ram.

uhm it's designed by nokia and so is the software foxconn sell and distribute that's 1 second of all although not the most original it's not a 100% balant copy the nokia tablet is full curved while the ipad is only curved at the back it also beats the ipad in every aspect of design and hardware (ligher, thinner, better cameras both ends etc...) so you could say nokia perfected the design :) EDIT: also considering these are nokia officials in those pics they clearly have a say in distribution

i'm interested to see how the tablet goes outside china i personally got a jolla tablet beause i'm impatient and am curious regarding sailfish but if nokia does keep making devices that are gorgeous and priced aggressively i may be interested otherwise it's Sony or Microsoft (if they ever release a flagship) anyone reckon nokia might become something like the one plus one only a bit better ??? Good luck nokia

By going through the Apple path Nokia surely got a good future to bad they can't yet release a phone but i except sth different in design from them sth unique sth that you can yes with pride that it's a Nokia phone like Apple's iPhone.

Nokia will never release this in the US because they know that Apple will surely file a lawsuit for copying the IPAD's design.. Good thing I dont live in the US..

That is possible, but there are a lot of ipad mini clones running around, and apple hasn't bothered with them. Sams is selling one for $70, and works decent for the price. They only care if you make a lot of money off them, like samsung.
