Nokia Asha 308 and 309 possibly revealed by a leaked document

Nokia Asha 308 and 309 possibly revealed by a leaked document
From the far east comes a leaked document suggesting that Nokia could be working on a couple of new Asha phones. The devices in question are supposedly known as the Nokia Asha 308 and Asha 309.

Judging by the information provided by the tipster, the former is a dual-SIM handset while the latter is a single-SIM device. Both of them have Wi-Fi on board, and it won't be surprising if they are full-touchscreen devices, just like the members of the recently unveiled Asha touch trio. The rumor is accompanied by a couple of photos showing a touchscreen handset with a Nokia logo on it. Unfortunately, not a whole lot of the phone can be seen as it is inside a strange-looking case, possibly so that it doesn't attract prying eyes.

Of course, you should file all of the above information under rumors and keep it there until we get more evidence in support of the Asha 308 and 309's existence. After all, the leak might be a fake, or the new models may simply be variants of existing ones tailored for the Asian market.

i hate the asha S40 lines! it cant compete to samsung galaxy y! if its a linux base OS then im loving it... they say that nokia is brewing a new linux OS by the smarterphone team.. i love nokia but if they want to compete with low end smartphone they should abandon there awful s40 and go for a linux base OS or atleast revive symbian in that market!!!

Agree. For almost the same price of the Y, you can get an Xperia Mini and that one has an official ICS update.

but a lot of people will choose that dumb-price-cheap-smartphone galaxy y than buying a smart-looking-but-not-a-smartphone-with-no-apps asha lines... even people on that market wants instagram... can asha lines have that? does asha lines have a rich ecosystem? even though that the galaxy y has limited set of apps it is still the dominant on its level... same goes to galaxy y duos which feature a dual SIM dual standy!! its a need!! all the asha lines dual SIM dont offer dual standby! nokia really needs to learn from samsung! samsung already took over there place as the biggest phone manufactures, i hope they wont took nokia's place as the best in feature phones too! they should really need to go for symbian on that market!! symbian for low end and windows for midrange and high end! atleast symbian can do multitasking and a hundred thousands apps on nokia store! btw only 25000 of apps are available for s40! and most of them are only demo!!

oh please noobs not every person on earth likes smartphone or high tech phones these for for low end markets if u live in asia or africa u will get these not iphones or high tech smartphones and nokia is the only compnay making phones for these markets others dont give a s**t about low end phones samsung phones of android still are worthless since using high end OS on extremly low specs makes android why too pathetic to use so people tends to stick to nokia in those markets and in most countries operators dont offer contract phones so they always sale retail phones for full price

i live in the philippines, and yes not all people likes smartphones here especially old people!! they will buy a nokia because of its basic use for call and text only! BUT most of the people here dream to have a smartphone, an iPhone, Nokia Lumia or samsung GS3! as far as i know, the new asha touch line is for youngsters... but how can they compete on that range if they dont have apps?... and people here wanted game and social networking apps too!! that's why the young people here love the galaxy y and y duos because of android ecosystem! it is a big hit!.. people will buy a touchscreen phones because of apps! its all about apps!!!
