Next HTC flagship to sport Snapdragon 820 chipset; HTC M10 doesn't exist?
A couple of tweets from tipster @Ricciolo1 reveals that rumors to the contrary, the name of the next HTC flagship model is not the HTC M10. Tweets from ROM developer @LlabTooFeR had said that HTC's next flagship would be the HTC M10.  One thing that we do know about the next HTC flagship is that according to @Ricciolo1, the Snapdragon 820 chipset will be under the hood. For a long time now, HTC has been mentioned as being among the manufacturers waiting for Qualcomm to start shipping its latest high-end chipset. The Snapdragon 820 was introduced today by Qualcomm.

HTC needs to release a new flagship to make up for the tepid response to the HTC One M9. Originally, CEO CherWang told stockholders this past summer that the company was working on a "Hero" device which many thought would be the HTC One A9. When that device turned out to be a mid-range model, there were some HTC fans who felt a little disappointed. What this has done has put a brighter spotlight on the next HTC flagship.

So to recap, we have a new flagship coming, possibly as soon as the second quarter. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 820 chipset, and won't be called the HTC M10. Hopefully, more information about this device leaks soon.

Thanks for the tip!

The HTC eyephone with iris scanner that looks even more like an iPhone than the A9 does. And the only reason it has an iris scanner is so they can call it an eyephone.

M8 was never meant the name of the phone in the first place. It was just an internal codename for their flagships. M7 One M6 One X M5 Sensation etc. The only went with it because they needed to differentiate the new One (M8) from the old One. No need to stick with it.

Htc cant lower price, they are losing money since forever even at this price. No one will buy phones from company that cant even R&D

They can lower their profit margin in hopes of selling a larger volume, which will ultimately give them more money.

M8 - one last chance! had that horrible bezel and camera M9 - one last chance! makes the M8 again and calls it the M9 Every other HTC phone - one last chance! again with the consistently horrible bezel A9 - one last chance! iPhone clone with horrible bezel M10 - not even existing anymore, but I bet it would have a horrible bezel Next HTC flagship - one last chance! probably again with the bezel and likely iPhone language. All HTC has to do is remove their horrible bezels and use standard flagship cameras and they will be on top. Oh and don't remake the M7/8/9 again. We're long tired of that design.

Lol I know. In 12 months time when the M11 is rumored (if HTC is still around that is) I'll be saying the same thing again. Sad.

Bezels don't bother me.. Everything about HTC devices is awesome except Camera... HTC can survive only of they produce cameras in their devices comparable to iPhone & Samsung flagship and keep the cost low...
