New update for Samsung's Game Launcher brings DeX support, feature currently not working

Samsung's Game Launcher application has recently received an interesting update. Coming in as version 2.2.01.4, the new patch brings a bunch of bug fixes and stability improvements, but most notably support for DeX - the docking station which lets you connect your Galaxy S8/S8+ to a monitor, keyboard, and mouse for a desktop-like experience.

The idea of playing mobile games on a larger screen with the help of peripherals might cause some of you to instantly search for the latest APK file of the app, but unfortunately, one simply can't use the feature at the moment.

There is a “Supported by DeX” collection of games in Game Launcher and most of them can be launched from the dock, but the titles don't recognize any mouse or keyboard as a valid input device. This, in turn, leaves the user stranded on the menu screen, unable to perform any actions.

Hopefully, Samsung will come up with a patch to the patch and fix the issue in the near future. Until then, we're stuck with small screens and touch controls.

And i can assure you this will not work till the s9 drops. Its just samsungs thing, announcing half-baked features. Remember eye tracking, air view, smartstay, bixby voice, s-voice, air gesture, facial recognition, heartrate monitor etc?

If it was good, I would just giggle or even give you a thumbs up. So, not really, you need more practice.

Except for Bixby, all of the features you just mentioned were working right out of the box when they were 1st announced. And why I'm not surprised to see you the 1st to comment on a Samsung's related article? I mean you're always bashing them, so why is it that you're always following their news? And talking about half baked features, tell us more how Siri, Apple Maps, portrait mode were working perfectly fine when they were released? How about the Apple Watch having to load EVERY application from the iPhone when it was 1st released? Anyways, one thing I'm sure about, this feature will be fully functional by the time Apple decides to "innovate" this feature 4 years from now :)

How about how thesame Apple watch out-sold every android powered smartwatch put together? Ok, thats too much for you i see. By the way about apple maps? U ever notice how samsung could never ever try to attempt having one, much less a successful one like apple maps now? Yeah, thats way beyond their league. Or can u even imagine samsung having an OS like ios?, (not the vapourware called tizen), Oops, that would hurt.

And what has sold units numbers have to do with your initial post? But I didn't expect much from you, you're the king of deflecting on this website.

Yeah, if it were as bad as u claim then why would it outsell everyone? Yeah, i never taught you'd have the answer.

Because it's Apple you smartass, they outsell everyone in the premium market. And again, why are you insisting on deflecting? The main point was half-baked features, and I gave you couple of examples that your favorite company released in the past few years.

Yes and mcdonald's burgers are the best because they outsold every other burgers out there. Now, do you know how retarded you guys look everytime you say that the Apple watch is the best because it sells well?

You can play a game from your phone on any display, but simply using an HDMI to USB Type-C cable vs going through DEX. With a direct connection, you won't be mirroring which has delays. I was surprised how fast it is even with my phone pushing QHD onto my 4K TV. DEX i think wasn't meant to offload all your apps from the phone to a screen in real-time. But if they can make it work, that will be great.

Maherk...just ignore them. Just talk only to people who want to talk tech. If you don't give a fool an audience, even if they don't go away; you will see less and less. They only do it to get attention. Let's work together to not give them any. I wanted to retort to his BS post too. I decided its not worth the time. They know the facts
