New ZeroLemon battery cases add an extra 8500 mAh to Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ batteries

New ZeroLemon battery cases add an extra 8500 mAh to Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ batteries
Released at the same time last year (in August), the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ share many of their features, including similar 3000 mAh batteries. While these are non-removable batteries, they are long-lasting, and can be charged pretty fast (if you don't believe us, check out our Galaxy Note 5 review and Galaxy S6 edge+ review).

Still, if you're not happy with the battery life that the two handsets are offering, accessory maker ZeroLemon has something for you: the company this week released giant battery cases for both devices.

The two new ZeroLemon battery cases have 8500 mAh capacities - almost 3 times higher than the batteries inside the Note 5 and S6 edge+, so we assume that you should have no problems getting at least 3 days of usage time on a single charge (when fully charging both the case, and the built-in batteries of the phones). Needless to say, the two cases are heavy and bulky, each weighing 218 grams, and being 21mm thick. The Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ won't look too pretty inside these cases, but that's unlikely to bother you if you need all the extra juice that they're packing.

The ZeroLemon 8500 mAh battery cases for Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ feature extra ports for charging other devices, and come with LED indicators for battery level and charging status. Both accessories cost $59.99, and are available to buy as of now on Amazon (see the source link below). Who's interested?

The Note 5s battery life isnt that bad - it certainly isn't excellent but its still quite decent.

For sure, well said. Not that bad but definitely disappointing for the Note series

It's quite decent. I would be happy with the note 5's battery performance which is much better than other flagships..

I agree it's not that bad. I get about a day light use and about 6 hours medium use and about 5 hours heavy use, we'll heavy for me. I may be off a little on these times could be a little more but not less.. To me that is not bad. Now if I wanted to put it in U power saving I can get a few days of just light use.

I have a Note 5 and definitely prefer Android but I'm honestly disappointed in the Note 5's battery life. Hopefully some of these issues will be resolved in the Marshmallow update.

Some people are blind fanboys lol. My buddy has... Had... A note 5. He's rocking a xiaomi now.

On the very site, they do battery life testing. The Note 5 scored excellent, solidly beat the iPhone 6 Plus. The 6s Plus tied it. So I guess the iPhone 6s Plus is disappointing, too. And the 6 Plus was just pathetic. Right?

The difference is that most of the time your device is in standby mode, and while certain bootcamp testing does put 6s and note 5 on same level - iOS is miles ahead in standby time because of poor background tasking in Android - it'll improve with Doze in Marshmallow - as it's made to mimic iOS background tasking...

I regularly get through a 16 hour day with 5-6 hours screen on time with battery left over when I plug in. If you call that disappointing, you can't be satisfied.

BTW, it's not poor background taking in Android, it's true multitasking, something Apple had religiously stayed away from. And Doze doesn't mimic iOS, because you can control it.

Android has SH*TTY back grounding lmao. Samsung, oh boy... That's another story. Doze is garbage compared to what it could have been.

This is one of my main concerns. the battery shouldn't drain by 10% overnight with no apps running in my opinion. Unfortunately my Note 5 does that so I just turn it off every night and use and actual alarm clock lol.

My s6 edge plus has been off charge for 6 hrs and it's at 48% with 2 hrs 41 mins screen on time so far with auto brightness set at half way Mark. Seems pretty good to me as that's gonna be 5.5 hrs of screen on time spread over 12 hrs. And that's mainly Web surfing with a little bit of music streaming over Bluetooth and about 20 pics taken. (And watched about 20-30 mins of video + 11 mins of voice calls). I have uninstalled the Facebook app so not sure if that has helped or not

12 hours is what I get from my 2 years+ Note 3 on my batteries of 6 months. I use to change batteries before heading home. Now a double-capacity just gives me power for the entire day. 8-11 screen on time, woke even consuming 6GB data. Point is, Samsung should had gone removable battery. You would not have endure 21mm external cases like this. That internal battery will eventually give up holding as much power.

I've a note 5 and I can tell you the battery is brilliant. Not as amazing as my old Sony Z3 but still brilliant.

My S6 Edge Plus battery is great .. I dont need such a bulky case .. the weight of that case is really more than the weight of the phone itself! I can use my Samsung 11,000 mAh external power bank whenever i need a charge!

My s6 edge plus gets amazing battery life.. While this amount would be welcome I've never been let down by it unlike the moto x pure edition 2015 which has terrible battery life.

I have a Note 5 and it has good battery, noticeably better than my previous Note 4. The only thing that I'm disappointed about is the call sound quality, noticeably worse than the Note 4. Maybe it's just that N920i variant is not best equipped for Europe?!

Bit too late for Me. Have my eyes already on Note 6. Note 5 was awesome for Me. Survive 6-17 heavy emails burn and I end up with around 20%. But yeah, seeing Note 5 excellent performance, I expect note 6 to be even better with higher capacity. SD Card please... 32GB got Me worried all the time

I have the VZW variant of the Note 5 with the current 3500mAh ZeroLemon battery pack and im pretty please with the stats I get. get through about 2 days of usage. I dont stream much except for maybe 4 or 5 youtube videos a day, alot of SMS and a couple phone calls, and quite a bit of camera usage. I have been waiting for this 8500mAh variant for months now and just placed the order this morning. ZeroLemon has been good to me over the years, especially on my Note 4. I was able to actually squeeze just short of a week out of that 10,000mAh battery (6days, 18hrs and 53mins to be exact) And no, ZeroLemon is not paying me to post this haha
