New Surface Pro 4 ad once again compares the tablet to the Apple MacBook Air
posted by Alan F. / Sep 11, 2016, 9:21 PM
Less than a week ago, Microsoft released a television ad for the Surface Pro 4 that showed how some features of the latter cannot be found on the Apple MacBook Air. For example, the Surface Pro 4 features a touchscreen, something not found on Apple's device. With the Surface Pen, users of the Microsoft built slate can write on the screen, something that Mac Book Air users can't do. And with the Type Cover, the Windows 10 powered tablet has a removable QWERTY. Of course, the Mac Book Air doesn't have such an accessory because it is a laptop, not a tablet, and comes with a permanently attached QWERTY.
As we pointed out in the first article, it would seem that the Apple iPad Pro would be a fairer adversary for the Surface Pro 4. And that device offers the Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard. But Microsoft is making the comparison because the Surface Pro 4 runs on a desktop class OS with Windows 10. We get it.
We're not going to get into same argument as last time; today we're just presenting the latest ad for your perusal. Once again, viewers are serenaded by a catchy toe-tapping number that sticks to your brain like peanut butter does to the roof of your mouth. You'll find the ad at the top of this story, simply awaiting your tap to play.

Lol, the toyPad XL isn't even in the same class, it's light years behind in terms of versatility. At least the MacBook Air is capable of running full professional software and can update its own main media library from any internet source without any other device. The Surface Pro is equally comparable to both of them (as it's practically both a Laptop and a Tablet), but the MacBook Air is the more reasonable comparison as it isn't merely an oversized toy.

PA, What's so sickening about it...? Wait, let me scratch my head... (Scratches the old head)... Nah, still can't think why... Microsoft is hitting Apple where it hurts... THE MOST...! So what? American mobile carriers troll each other WAY MORE than that... Besides, it's not EXACTLY trolling... Just a comparison between the two which is slightly biased, all pretty normal... Next time, make a comparison ad with iPad... (EVIL GRIN ON THE OLD FRECKLED FACE)... Apple lack major innovation potential after the big loss of BOSS JOB... I loved that guy (Don't get any funny ideas, I'm straight)... I mean, iPhone 7 look EXACTLY the same as iPhone 6, launched two years ago... And they still haven't embraced HYBRIDS which are the future... Yes, I love Apple... But I don't WORSHIP it... That's what God is for, eh? G'Day!

Poor Microsoft, they are so confused they don't know what They are doing. I guess they are trying to go against the Air, since the IPad Pro is killing them in sales. Surface been out 3 or 4 yrs now and are not selling. Stick to sells nag office......

Not selling? What are you talking about? The surface market share has been increasing steadily year over year. It became a billion dollar business for Microsoft last year (2015) and it continues to grow. Where are you getting your facts from? I would love to post links but PA does not let me until I post more. Do you seriously want to compare a monster of a machine like the Surface Pro to an iPad Pro? Hahahahahahaha.. Stop just stop. The Surface Pro runs circles around the iPad Pro. Full operating system vs IOS? Lol Yeah, that sounds like a fair fight. Sorry to burst your bubble but Apple's iPad line has been steadily decreasing in sales year over year. Don't believe me? Go check Apple's financial report. We get it, you like Apple products and there is nothing wrong with that but please spare us from the BS you are trying to peddle here. Remember when Apple had those PC vs Mac commercials? I bet you thought those where just clever, funny and professional on Apple's part huh? Microsoft starts to point out features their product has that Apple's product does not and it's now taboo? You, the author of this article, and the rest of the Apple brigade need to just get over the fact that your Apple product is not as great and definitely not as expensive as Apple makes it out to be. Let go of your Microsoft hatred already. Call me crazy but I really don't think it's Microsoft who is confused here. Cheers.

A Surface wouldn't work with my iPhone and iCloud. So for me a mac makes more sense.

What? You know you can download iCloud for windows right? There is literally a page on Apple's website that shows you how to install and set up. iTunes is also available for Windows to manage your media. Believe me, your iPhone works just fine on a surface which runs the latest version of Windows (Windows 10).

The iPad pro isn't a computer, what don't you guys understand about that, the Surface Pro is targeted at the Mac Book air market, they aren't interested in the iPad pro. How many Uni students or journalists have you seen typing on an iPad pro? Barely any, the Macbook on the other hand is everywhere and that is where Microsoft's ads make sense. Personally I find these types of ads crazy cringe worthy.
