While
the U.S. is getting the refreshed Google Nexus 7 late this month (July 30th to be exact), those in the U.K. may not be quite as lucky. According to Currys and PC World, two retailers that are part of the Dixons group, the 16GB and 32GB variants of the
Google Nexus 7 II won't be arriving in the region until
September 13th. That would be about a month and a half after
U.S. consumers will have started watching Netflix in 1080p on their Nexus 7 slates. Considering that both retailers were involved in last year's launch of the OG
Google Nexus 7, they probably weren't whistling
Yankee Doodle DandyLondon Calling when it came to posting the release date.
The pricing for pre-orders of the tablet through the retailers amounts to £199.99 and £239.99 for the 16GB and 32GB models respectively ($305 and $367 USD). The model of the tablet being offered is not the European 4G slate, so if you're awaiting an LTE enabled version of the tablet, expect it to arrive later than September. Meanwhile, the OG
Google Nexus 7, with 16GB of storage and Wi-Fi connectivity, is still available in the U.K. Google Play Store for £159 ($243 USD).
Following the U.S.launch this month, the next countries scheduled to receive the tablet are the U.K., Germany, South Korea, Japan, Spain, Canada, France and Australia.
The new Google Nexus 7 isn't due to be released in the U.K. until mid-September
