New Apple iPhone 7 ad focuses on expressive messages; it's "practically magic"

With iOS 10 this year came a new feature called expressive messages. This new feature gives iOS users a chance to make their iMessages standout more by including certain animations (such as balloons) along with the message. As it turns out, balloons are actually the star of Apple's latest ad for the Apple iPhone 7.

In the 60-second spot, appropriately titled "Balloons," we follow a single red balloon as it travels throughout the U.S. before meeting up with other like-minded air receptacles. Suddenly, inside an office, an iMessage is received on some one's iPhone 7. It's a Happy Birthday message, and to warm the insides of even the most cynical person, an animation appears made up of balloons lifting off the ground.

This is part of the new expressive messages found on iOS 10. As Apple would say, it's "practically magic." Check out the ad yourself by clicking on the video at the top of this article.

The new iMessage features that iOS 10 brought are awesome, and a lot of fun to use.

imessage (and improved siri) is the only thing ios 10 has. I know apple is trying to keep it simple, but as a consumer I was expecting a little bit more than thst

"Practically magic" you say?. *shows iphone 6* look at the headphone jack. NOW YOU SEE IT. *does magician moves but just replaces iphone 6 with iphone 7 and shows it* NOW YOU DON'T! *apple fanboys applaud in the background* I'd also pay $700 for that show..... Not.

Still better than lame messages on android, failed hangouts app and that new Allo or something which is probably gonna fail too.... And android fanboys are so jealous for that fact.

While the apps Google puts out may have failed, Android users seem perfectly fine without iMessage. If it was that big of a deal they would switch. If Google made Hangouts the only choice for every Android user I would be willing to bet Hangouts would be pretty successful. But the motto is "be together, not the same." which would suggest the freedom of choice.

Apps commercials are the worst ever.

Edit: meant to say: Apple commercials are the worst ever. They brainwash everyone into buying their products. Unlike Samsung who's very honest and informative or google who commercials are truelly epic. Who cares that you're enjoying your Apple devices year over year. You need to get smart and get an android device - because getting what other nerds are telling you to get instead of what you enjoy to use is the smartest thing to do.

Why are you bringing Samsung and Android into this, Alik? You've been trolling Samsung and Android hard lately. You're better than this.

Doing my best to "one-up" all the expected comments. There are not much interesting news about Apple. I'm not much impressed by iOS 10. I'm actually having what seems to be random shutdowns with 6s that requires me to plug-in the charger just to restart (about once or twice a day). Waiting for a report or Apple promising to fix it - but so far no one else seems to have that issue - which means I may need to do a full restore and I'm lazy - I've done to once with my 5s (well apple employee did it in the Apple Store) so I may just visit them tomorrow. So, Just having fun.

This ad definitely sucked. I don't think they'll be brainwashing anyone with this one. You having a personality crisis or something? Trying to reach out maybe?

True, especially the Jet Black from iPhone 7 was totally brainwashing. They don't dare to show other colours like rose gold or matter black for entice customer.

The reality distortion field at full power. Only Apple could convince you that the thing they told you 2 years ago you absolutely did not need you now absolutely need.

They're focus mainly with idiots, dumbass, and fools and brainless people Apple caters for. And also OAP, as well as newbie.

Apple needs to open iMessage up. It sucks that these features, though cool, only work with other iOS devices. They should be available through carrier SMS/MMS as well.

All the carriers and the phone makers need to develop one messaging app with all these features and let the people decide what to use.

Yes sir they should. I also feel the same way about video chat.

I believe its most Google chat services, which everyone keeps deleting / Google keeps discontinuing / giving support. 1 messaging app available on all platforms, the people decide. Its either WhatsApp, FB Messenger, or iMessage.

With android, anyone can steal and read and hack your messages thus iOS or windows will never collaborate with insecure android.

misinformed.

DJ, that's one thing that would make iMessage take over the world. With all the features it would be awesome if android people can enjoy them.

Yeah and dual boot iOs on Android. My God, just imagine you can operate WP, iOs and Android on iPhones or on Android phones. Magnificent.

You know what I wouldn't want a daul boot phone. I enjoy having my Nexus and my iPhone 7. Just in case one of them dies I have the other one. I love having the two best phones in the game. Till the new Pixel comes out.

When you say DJ, do you refer to DarkJedi or The Captain #2 Derek Jeter? Dark- I would love to video call my people in Texas a lot more than I do but they have Android/ Windows and I hate using the Facebook Messenger, Tango, Snapchat.
