Motorola unveils two clamshell cellphones at the 3GSM

Following suit of introducing new devices at a big mobile phones forum, Motorola has unveiled two additions to its lineup of clamshell devices at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona - V195 and W220.

 

V195: a quad-band GSM phone, which will be available in two colors - dark pearl grey and cosmic blue and is expected to be released in the second quarter of 2006. The device sports:

  • 65k color CSTN main display
  • SCREEN3 technology
  • 10 MB internal memory
  • SMS/EMS/MMS/IM support
  • MPEG4 player
  • Bluetooth/miniUSB connectivity
  • Push-to-Talk supportBuilt-in speakerphone

W220: an ultra-thin RAZR-like entry-level device, which will come in two versions – GSM (900/1800) for Europe and Asia and GSM (850/1900) for the Americas. The handset is expected to hit the market in the third quarter of 2006. The main features are:

  • Size: 3.74 x 1.81 x 0.65 inches (95x46x16.6mm) and weight of 3.28 (93g)
  • 1.5-inch 4k color CSTN display
  • WAP 2.0 Internet browser
  • SMS/MMS support
  • FM radio
