Microsoft to announce the Surface 3 before the holidays, reportedly has a Surface Mini in the pipeline
Throughout the current year, we've been occasionally hearing that Microsoft is prepping a new Surface tablet, which will allegedly be revealed sometime this fall. The last representative of the Surface family (not the be mistaken with the higher-end Surface Pro one) is the 10.6” Surface 2, which got unveiled more than a year ago, in September 2013.

It is beginning to get a little long in the tooth now, so it comes to no surprise that various rumors and speculations tip Redmond to be secretly working on a Surface 3 that will bear Microsoft's banner across tabletland well through 2015. These might get announced sometime this month.

Moreover, the giant is also once again said to have a Surface Mini in the pipeline. Despite the multiple rumors that Microsoft won't be releasing a smaller version of its Surface slate as it didn't come with enough unique features, it looks like Redmond might be finally considering to take a smaller-sized munchkin on the market, which will compete with the likes of the smaller Android and iOS tablets out there. We've heard nothing about the specs of the rumored slates yet. The Surface Mini is said to arrive in limited quantities, mind you.

Any confirmation whether these tablets will still run Win RT or x86 full windows?

I would expect them to continue both versions with the full size Surface. Rt version, and a full Surface Pro line. Mini prob rt version only.

Yeah. Personally, I'd like it to run full windows. Although, I assume that they have their concerns on the battery life too.

More useful than a mere iPad. 3 months with the Surface 2 and I love the it with the a full USB connection, memory card expansion, full keyboard cover, full Office, 200GB for 2 years and the useful built-in kickstand.

If they want to use RT, I would rather see it on a mini rather than a full size tablet...

folks "Window RT" OS is dead or at least dying. Instead the New Windows on Arms CPU Tablets will run Windows Universal Apps. Apps that can run on a Windows smart phone and an ARMS CPU Tablet computer. In the year 2015 Windows Tablets will have the NEW Windows 10 Operating system with Universal APPs I Still think ARMS CPU Tablets wont run OLD LEGACY DESKTOP Programs but will run Microsoft Universal APPs which will run on ALL windows 10 Microsoft OS devices. The question is will People buy them?. the Surface 3 I hope is an atom based cheaper full Windows 8.1 Tablet but the Surface Mini was rumored to run the Windows RT OS but was not introduced until Microsoft's NEW! touch screen version of Microsoft Office was ready. Windows tablet Owners have bee waiting for the touch screen tablet version of Windows Office for some time now I hope it's GOOD!

folks you may think I'm a NUT but if they put the MS Surface "Mini" on the Market I will buy one for 2 reasons. 1=Surfing the web, and get web Based entertainment using my wireless router signal in the living room or on the Porch. 2= Buy it as a Collectors Item because if they do not sell well Microsoft will discontinue making them. for me it will a Collectors Item I will use instead of keeping it in a box that is never opened.
