Microsoft is about to push out Lumia Denim to more models globally (UPDATE: Denim is coming to these models)
Microsoft has already sent out the Lumia Denim update to a small group of Nokia Lumia handsets. But now comes the real fun as the update gets pushed out to a larger group of phones. The update combines Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 with a number of new features exclusive to Lumia handsets.

The update includes the ability to activate personal assistant Cortana by saying "Hey Cortana." With the Lumia Denim update, you can move apps into a folder on your Start Screen. Word Flow allows you to swipe your fingers across the keyboard to type, similar to Swype. After installing the update, you will have the choice of adding weather data to your Glance screen, or viewing some of your fitness data. And Internet Explorer takes you to mobile websites faster than before.

Certain updates to the camera are available just for the Nokia Lumia 930, Nokia Lumia Icon and the Nokia Lumia 1520. Among those changes, you will be able to take picture after picture after picture just milliseconds apart. In addition, booting up the camera is faster than ever. With Rich Capture, three exposures of a single picture are melded together to give you a more realistic looking photo, and Moment Capture lets you shoot video in 4K.

In the U.S., Lumia Denim has already been received by the Nokia Lumia 928  and the Nokia Lumia 822. Other models in the states should start receiving it once the carriers finish their tests. Overseas Windows Phone users can also expect to see a wider rollout of Lumia Denim to more Lumia handsets.

UPDATE: The Lumia models receiving the Lumia Denim update worldwide with this wave of updates are the Nokia Lumia 520, Nokia Lumia 620, Nokia Lumia 625, Nokia Lumia 920 and the Nokia Lumia 1020. More Lumia models will receive the update in the next wave of updates.

scrolling where? A long 'fast' swipe up, os responds with a super fast long swipe. If you are in your apps, just use the letter navigation. I have over a 100 apps, 62 of which are pinned to the front using a combination of folders and tiles, have never had a 'scrolling' issue.

For many it is better than Android or iOS. Their visual updates were largely inspired by Windows Phone.

For many wp users. Not for many of any other group.

Tell you what.. let MS refresh that X line for 2015 "properly" and I won't even care if it's shipping out w/ Modern UI by default. Just asking for an unadulterated Android base that's rootable and xda dev worthy while they're at it. And then just name the price I might just bite.

The beauty of android as everyone wants to tout is that non google vanilla android base simply sucks. There is a reason people opt to pay to use Google services and the word Android on their devices, its what people 'think' is true android. It is not. True android lets you start at a base and create your own. If anything Nokia, Kindle and all the non-google android devices out there has given you an unadulterated Android Vision....but you knew that.

And that's why I could never truly appreciate a android phone. I mean I understand the allure of a completely unadulterated android base as you so eloquently said. You must get a kick out of tweaking it and making sure it's got exactly what you need. But me I just need that phone to be reliable, hardly ever crash, smooth, with a little touch of customization, and show me what I need just by looking at start menu a la live tiles. So windows phone fits the bill for me and if they can figure out how to break the app gap then I'll never go back to droid or iOS again.

Is the 930/Icon ever gonna have glance? And does the 820 have it at all?

If you searched at all, the Icon/930 screen does not support Glance, it never will. It is a hardware limitation. Glance literally turns off each pixel one by one, the 930 does not have a screen that can do that. period, this is a literal physical limitation of science.

I want a WP more and more now. My mom just got her 630 and I just cannot put it away. *0* I love the UI, I love how it is fluid and smooth... I am drooling... *0* iPhone on the other hand was lately a bugfest to me. :/ It feels like it is begging me to throw it at a wall....
