Metal frame allegedly belonging to Huawei P9 surfaces, reveals USB-C port
With Samsung and Apple ensconced as the top two global smartphone manufacturers, Huawei has already sent them a warning that it expects to top the list in five years. Having had a fabulous 2015, Huawei feels that it is in a position to continue making great strides in the years ahead. Last year, the company released some very well received handsets including its first Nexus model. The Nexus 6P received a respectable 8.8 score in our review of the device, and the Huawei P8 was given an 8.5.

Moving ahead to the Huawei P9, back in December there was talk that the phone would be unveiled in March. Back then, the P9 was rumored to sport a metal-clad body carrying a 5.2-inch display. The top-of-the-line Kirin 950 chipset will reportedly be under the hood. There could be 4GB of RAM inside, with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. A leak of the stickers that will purportedly be used on back of the device, show that it will have a dual camera system. Another leak last month revealed that the handset might feature a physical home button.

Today, a picture of a metal frame for the Huawei P9 has been leaked. The images reveal that the handset will offer a Type-C USB port. The camera cutout matches the stickers for the dual camera lens that we first showed you in October, and a cut out for the fingerprint scanner can be spotted.

While the Huawei P9 could be unveiled in April, we could also see a larger-screened Huawei P9 Max, a smaller Huawei P9 Lite, and a special feature-enhanced Huawei P9. The latter will be equipped with a screen sized in between the P9 and P9 Max. This model will have bumped up specs, like more RAM and increased storage. Some say that this will be the only P9 model to come with dual cameras on the back, but that remains to be seen.
