LG Nitro HD could explode in the U.S. for AT&T
The LG Optimus LTE has already been launched in Korea and the stand out feature on the device is the phone's True HD IPS display. LG says that the display looks better than AMOLED screens and has a ppi of 329, making it the first handset to beat the Retina display on the Apple iPhone 4 and the Apple iPhone 4S. And this is accomplished using the RGB matrix, not the PenTile one that many have complained about. On the Optimus LTE, the 720 x 1280 resolution is seen on a 4.5 inch display.

Any chance of this fabulous screen coming to the U.S? After all, a variant of the phone will be found on Bell Canada as we previously reported. The answer would seem to be affirmative as Pocketnow obtained a image of the phone that will be known as the LG Nitro HD for AT&T. The model is known as the P930 and besides that luscious screen, is equipped with a dual-core 1.5GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. An 8MP camera is on back while a 1.3MP front-facing camera allows for video chat. With LTE 4G connectivity the LG Nitro HD will also run over the carrier's HSDPA network at speeds as high as 21Mbps.

With the phone not yet introduced by AT&T, we have no word on pricing and availability. What we do know is that the 4.5 inch screen sounds simply amazing-we can't wait to feast our eyes on it-and with the rest of the high-end specs, this beast is going to be an important release for the Korean based manufacturer. Unfortunately, it looks like Android 2.3 will be installed out of the box instead of Ice Cream Sandwich.
