LG G4 to come with one-year free screen replacement, 64GB microSD card in South Korea only

LG G4 buyers in South Korea who buy the manufacturer's new flagship handset before May 31st will be entitled to some extras that no one is apparently being offered anywhere else. For example, those buying the handset in the country prior to the end of May will be able to replace a cracked or broken screen free for one year following the purchase of the device. The screen can be replaced free just one time over the course of that year.

The second extra being given out to those buying the LG G4 in South Korea before the end of May is quite useful. It is a free 64GB microSD card. It isn't known whether LG will eventually expand the handouts, but for now it looks like they are strictly limited to those living in LG's backyard.

Besides passing along this information, LG also confirmed that the LG G4 will feature a 16MP rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, and an 8MP selfie snapper in the front. There had been some talk that the rear camera would be 13MP. The LG G4 will be unveiled in New York on April 28th.

Rather than giving a 64GB microSD card, I would prefer LG giving a 64GB version for the price of 16GB (or 32GB) for the early adopter, so those early adopter can have EXTRA SD-CARD slot to further expand the storage.

64 GB version will be easily around 100$ more expensive than 32 GB, if the 64 GB exists. Whereas, a 64 GB SD card barely costs 35$ or less.

Not for the manufacture. They could sell for US$100 more, but that doesn't mean it cost that much for them. Anyway, that just an idea / wishful thinking from me for them to make people want to be early adopter.

Want to hear a more wishful thinking: make the phone free. More people will become early adopter. Be content with what you get. Manufacturing storage isn't as cheap but remember that LG doesn't make their NAND. It will probably be a Samsung NAND. It'll not be as easy for LG. Besides, buying 64 GB SD cards in huge amounts will be a lot cheaper than 64 GB NAND option for them either way. You can always have better offers. I say to give me a 128 GB option. That would be even better. But not financially feasible.

Perhaps they should just come to your doorstep & hand you a $100 bill too, ya cheap bastard.

Fast internal storage isn't as cheap as slow external storage. remember that.

TRUE!!! But the US$100 more for upgrade from 16GB to 32GB or 32GB to 64GB doesn't means the manufacture pay that much. It just an imaginary pricing boundaries created by apple. for the manufacture to increase from 16GB or 32GB to 64GB is roughly the same price as giving the 64GB SD-card. and those all early adopter will feel that LG give them more value (artifial US$100 more) compared to cheap SD-card.

I didn't say it was close to what they are pricing, I just stated a fact. Though It's really sad others are following Apple's pricing in storage options.
