Thanks to a pair of giveaways run by Sprint and T-Mobile, the retail
LG G4 pricing has been revealed, and it is quite a bit lower than the other seasonal flagships. According to the contest's rulebook of Sprint "
eight (8) potential winners will each receive one (1) LG G4 Smartphone. The estimated Approximate Retail Value ("ARV") of each prize is $600.00."
T-Mobile is giving seven of those each week, for a total of 28 LG G4 handsets, and the ARV is still pegged at $600: "
Entry Period 1: Seven (7) LG G4 mobile devices. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $600.00 each. Entry Period 2: Seven (7) LG G4 mobile devices. ARV: $600.00 each. Entry Period 3: Seven (7) LG G4 mobile devices. ARV: $600.00 each. Entry Period 4: Seven (7) LG G4 mobile devices. ARV: $600.00 each. Total ARV of prizes: $16,800.00"
There you have it - while this might still be a slightly subsidized retail price that reflects the vast quantities of a particular model that carriers are able to order, it is still $50 less than what they are charging for, say, the
Galaxy S6, or the HTC One M9. Any takers?
