Kanye West has message for Tim Cook: "stop trying to act like you Steve"
Exactly one month ago, the Wall Street Journal revealed that Apple was talking to Jay Z's guys about an acquisition of  music streamer Tidal. By all accounts, the hip hop artist happens to be a brilliant businessman, and such a deal would only serve to add to that legend. Wall Streeter Gene Munster says that it will take $500 million of Apple's cash hoard to pry the music streaming service out of Jay Z's grip. At that price, the performer will get back nine times the $56 million he paid to purchase Tidal in March 2015. Ka-ching!

For all we know, both sides are currently trying to hash out the details of a transaction. These things take time, and even for a cash laden company like Apple, half a billion bucks is not chump change. Or perhaps there is no deal being worked out at all. But that didn't stop Kanye West from throwing in his two cents today via a series of tweets.

Kanye first alluded to some sort of "beef" between Apple and Tidal, blaming it for "f*****g up the music game." He then tweeted that "I need Tim Cook Jay Z Dez Jimmy Larry me and Drake Scooter on the phone or in a room this week!!!"

Kanye is not a man who is used to being told "No" and some how he seems seriously offended by what he sees as unnecessary roadblocks standing in the way of this deal. And while we can't know exactly what is in his mind, it seems that he puts the blame on Apple CEO Tim Cook. Taking a shot at Apple's top executive, West tweeted "Apple give Jay his check for Tidal now and stop tying to act like you Steve."

Apple might buy Tidal, or it might decide to pass. One thing is for sure, Kanye West can't take credit for making Tim Cook famous.
