Is this the long awaited Nexus 8, pictured at last?
Recent posts on MYCE that referenced a device called "flounder," are among the most recent indications that the mythical Nexus 8 tablet is indeed real. Google is known to use fish as code names for its Nexus devices. The MYCE posts also refer to a 64-bit Tegra processor that would be powering the slate. On Thursday, a leak out of Asia came with a couple of leaked pictures allegedly showing the Nexus 8 tablet, and some new specs. And while the latest rumor does mention a 64-bit chip, the Tegra name is not on it.

The new rumor has the Nexus 8 powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm processor. The only Qualcomm silicon that could fit the bill, with 64-bit technology fit for a flagship, would be the Snapdragon 808 or the Snapdragon 810. But the pair won't be ready until 2015, which means that either the timing of this rumor is off, or more likely, the slate will use another chip altogether. There is a third possibility, which is that the pictures and specs are a fake. More on that later.

The Nexus 8 is  tipped to include 3GB of RAM and will include Android 4.5 pre-installed. The next big Android update is believed to be optimized for 64-bit silicon.

Now comes the part of the story where we tell you to take this with a grain of salt. After all, that Exclusive Leaked stamp makes the pictures below look questionable immediately. The previous rumor had the slate getting unveiled during Google I/O which runs for two days starting on June 25th. Considering that the number of leaks about the Nexus 8 have picked up recently, it could be a sign that the long waited tablet will  finally be unveiled next month at Google's developer conference.

Thanks for the tip!
