Huawei applies for “4D Touch” trademark
If the phrase “4D Touch” sounds strangely familiar, it's probably because it reminds you of 3D Touch, Apple's pressure-sensitive screen technology that debuted with the iPhone 6s. What's 4D Touch, though? Right now, we have no idea, but we do know that it's some sort of technology or feature that's under development at Huawei. The manufacturer has applied to register a trademark called “Huawei 4D Touch”; sadly, not much is known beyond the name itself.

A new trademark doesn’t necessarily mean a new technology, so it is still difficult to say if Huawei's 4D Touch will be some sort of pressure-sensitive solution or something entirely different. The only trademark description we found states that Huawei 4D Touch can be applied to any software and virtually all kinds of devices such as smartphones, tablets, smart watches, computers, cameras, fitness bracelets, etc. The information, however, is too general to be useful.

I hope they end up never actually making anything with this name, while other manufacturers register trademarks of 5D Touch, 6D touch, XD touch... until they all realize that it was all just a joke and they all fell for it
