No, this is not the beginning of scratch-gate, but if you opted to go a step above the Apple Watch Sport, you may have noticed that stainless steel scratches really easily, especially when it’s polished.

The good news is that you do not really need Apple Care to address the problem, unless you manage to take a good chunk out of the casing or otherwise destroying the watch in some fashion.

Finding a fix for what will inevitably be a common problem for those that shelled out a starting price of $549 is not difficult at all, and may cost less than $5 in most cases. Since most fashion accessories made with polished stainless steel will show signs of wear, whether it is an Apple Watch or Rolex.

A quick trip to your local retailer to pick up some metal polish, a clean terry-cloth towel, and a steady finger are all that is needed to get those scratches off the lustrous finish of your new Apple Watch. Of course, if you don’t have such a steady finger, a jeweler can do the same for you.
