Here’s an easy and inexpensive fix if you scratch your Apple Watch

No, this is not the beginning of scratch-gate, but if you opted to go a step above the Apple Watch Sport, you may have noticed that stainless steel scratches really easily, especially when it’s polished.

The good news is that you do not really need Apple Care to address the problem, unless you manage to take a good chunk out of the casing or otherwise destroying the watch in some fashion.

Finding a fix for what will inevitably be a common problem for those that shelled out a starting price of $549 is not difficult at all, and may cost less than $5 in most cases. Since most fashion accessories made with polished stainless steel will show signs of wear, whether it is an Apple Watch or Rolex.

A quick trip to your local retailer to pick up some metal polish, a clean terry-cloth towel, and a steady finger are all that is needed to get those scratches off the lustrous finish of your new Apple Watch. Of course, if you don’t have such a steady finger, a jeweler can do the same for you.

Pretty much all my steel watches have scratches on them. Heck, 4/5 of the Samsung Gear watches at the kiosk in Best Buy have scratches on them. Why is this becoming a thing (besides the obvious bias author && the click bait). Oh wait...

everything you listed pretty much does not cost $1,000-$17,000. Anything with this priced should not be easily scratched.

Show me a Rolex that has been worn that don't have Scratches. You're clearly someone that don't wear watches. I will show you that all my stainless watches have plenty of them. It's the nature of the beast.

you have 100 stainless watches and still bought the Apple watch? Why would you do that? Do you have 100 wrists? I'm sure you have a Rolex. I don't like the Apple watch because it costs more than my mechanical watch which I have had for 100 years. Until your overpriced toy watch with a tiny battery made by slaves last until the year 2999, don't talk about watches, you are just a person paid by Apple to talk negative about others.

If your Rolex has scratches, complain to the guy on the street who sold you the replica. My Omega has no scratches on either sapphire crystal (front and back) and one scratch on the case . . . the solid gold case (much softer than steel) . . . after 20 years of use. Current wristjobs are cheaply made but dearly priced.

Pretty much all my watches do. Like I said.

the aluminium 7000 on the sport seems better though ! probably the one to buy , black sport model is the best selling right now according to my local Apple store.

Well now it looks none of the Apple Watches are worth getting IMO Sport - weak glass Steel - weak polish and too pricey Edition - far too pricey But the other smartwatch aren't really worth getting as well IMO I'm waiting for at least the 2nd round, if not the 3rd

25. seven7dust unregistered

Lol yr acting as if other smartwatches have better glass , every smartwatch is going to break if you want to break it. I prefer aluminium.

I'm perfectly content with my 16GB iPod Nano 6th generation attached to a metal wrist strap. It has scratches all over it but that doesn't have any impact on the 2,000 songs it holds. I'll keep using it until the thing falls apart on me.

Yup mine still works nano 6th gen and everyone I knows asked it it's the apple watch whenever I wear it. Just simply reply nope and they're wondering it looks like one.

This shows that aluminium is far better than steel had the same problem with ipod touches few years back. Apple sport is the one to get right now. lighter metal , more durable and better pricing etc... I'm sure they'll be better third party bands as well. Apple has always been better with Aluminium, it made them famous for build quality if Steve was still there he would have never allowed the designers to use stainless steel. there is very few benefits.

The Sport's glass scratches easier So there's no Apple Watch worth getting right now IMO Or any other smartwatch IMO, I'm waiting for at least the 2nd round, if not the 3rd

The Moto 360 is pretty difficult to scratch and that is stainless steel. nctx77 in full blown Apple defense mode is hilarious

15. seven7dust unregistered

but it still scrathes and lets face it's only cheaper cause it has a oudated processor , outdated screen and not even fully round etc.
