HTC schedules event next week, might announce the HTC U19e
The HTC U12+

Although HTC’s smartphone business may seem pretty dead at the moment, the company is actually gearing up to launch a new product. And in order to commemorate its arrival, the Taiwan-based company has announced a new event on June 11th that’ll be held in China.

HTC is reportedly developing its own 5G flagship that’ll compete with the Galaxy S10 5G and LG V50 ThinQ 5G, but this device is nowhere to be seen at the moment. Instead, the announcement next week is expected to focus on the company’s upcoming mid-range offering. Rumor has it the smartphone will arrive equipped with a 6-inch display that boasts an 18:9 aspect ratio and large bezels both above and below. Paired with this should be a single front-facing selfie snapper and a dual-camera setup over on the rear.

Internally, the device is expected to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage as standard. Also, in regards to software, Android 9 Pie pre-installed alongside the company’s custom overlay is extremely likely. Nevertheless, HTC could still surprise us all by introducing the smartphone as a new Android One offering with stock Android.

Details such as the release date and pricing currently remain unclear, but new information indicates the smartphone will be offered in both Purple and Green. On one final note, the phone might be called the HTC U19e, something that suggests HTC will be targeting potential Galaxy S10e buyers, despite the difference in processing power.

Hopefully they have improved customer service, and their ability to repair their own devices. Good looking phones with great specs, but if anything goes wrong, they're an absolute nightmare to deal with.
