Purchase of a $25 Google Play card let to a successful redemption
Last week, evidence was discovered that
Google Play gift cards were going to be made available to certain stores for use in purchasing games, music, video or premium apps. It looks like distribution of the cards has started as a Target shopper was able to reach into a bin near the cash registers and
pull out a $25 Google Play gift card before they were supposed to go on sale. The card was successfully redeemed by
Android Police, so it shouldn't be too long before the cards are officially on the rack and ready to go.
Besides Target, it looks like Radio Shack will also be offering the Google Play gift cards according to an anonymous Shack employee and a leaked promotional flyer. Based on a screenshot of Radio Shack inventory, it would appear that the cards will be available in $10, $25 and $50 denominations. Just the thing to get for your mobile video game playing friend's birthday.
