For a while now, we've been getting a steady flow of leaks for the Google Pixel 3 XL — the flagship smartphone, which is supposedly going to launch 2 months from now. A schematic here, a concept there, with some blurry real-life photos of the phone spotted in the wild.
But none have been as damning and as descriptive as this one here: an actual unboxing of the Google Pixel 3 XL, posted by Russian website Rozetked. We get to see not only the phone, but all the accessories that come with it.
So, first thing's first — does the Pixel 3 XL really, really have that ugly notch up top?
Yep, it appears so.
"The Notch" has been a controversial topic ever since we saw it on the Essential Phone and, more popularly, on the iPhone X. Some people don't mind it, some kind of like it, but a lot of users just plain hate that cutout on top of many modern smartphones. And it appears that Google decided to be the worst offender with how it designs its own notch, because this thing is huge and droopy — not a sight many fans wanted to see.
Oh yeah, the phone has a rather large "chin", too. Granted, both of these design elements are there to house a duo of front-firing stereo speakers, which is always cool to have, but the whole aesthetic may need some getting used to.
OK, what about the rest of the box's contents?
Aside from the two USB adapters, data cable, and wall plug, we see a new set of earbuds. These are designed like wired versions of the Pixel Buds that Google launched last year — you've got an adjustable hoop on each earbud, allowing you to fine-tune the fit so that you can get the earphone to stay in place without causing you pain.

We do applaud Google for trying its hand at a unique solution for our earbud woes. But this loop system was a bit finicky with the Pixel Buds, and we do hope that it works better this time around. We'll reserve judgment for when we get our own hands-on time with the new buds.

And, of course, there's the small chance that this "unboxing" article could be a huge fake. It's the Internet — everything should be doubted, sure. But in comes another set of high-quality photos, tweeted by tech pundit Wylsacom. Yep, it seems like this is what the Pixel 3 XL is going to look like.
Oh wait, but that's not all. We also get a couple of shots with utility app AIDA opened on the phone. That, in turn, reveals some specs, which we've heard about before — a large 6.7-inch display with a 1440 x 2960 pixel resolution — making it an extra-wide display with a ratio of 18.5:9, which is the same ratio as on the iPhone X —, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, and a 3,430 mAh battery.
