Giant Samsung Galaxy J Max breaks cover, 7-inch screen included
Samsung today announced the Galaxy J Max, a brand new handset that is - as its name suggests - larger than most other handsets out there. What we have here is a 7-inch device: usually, this would be a tablet, but Samsung presents it as a smartphone.

Like many of Samsung's other Galaxy J phones, the Galaxy J Max is an affordable product with features that can't really impress anyone. The device's 7-inch display has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, which means it's far from being a sharp screen. The J Max also comes with a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor, LTE connectivity, dual SIM support, an 8 MP rear camera, 1.5 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of expandable storage space. The handset measures 186.9 x 108.8 x 8.7 mm, includes a 4000 mAh battery, and unfortunately runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. All in all, the Galaxy J Max can be seen as a distant successor to the 7-inch Samsung Galaxy W from 2014.

The Samsung Galaxy J Max will be available in India starting later this month for around $200 (13,400 INR) off contract. At the moment, we don't know if the device will be released in the US, or in other markets. Would you buy a giant smartphone like this one?
