Galaxy S8+ with 6 GB RAM already sold out in Korea

The Midnight Black Galaxy S8+ with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage is officially out of stock in South Korea. The initial batch of 150,000 units that Samsung produced has already been sold out, only 5 days after pre-orders for the Galaxy S8/S8+ officially began in the East Asian country.

The unique variant which is currently exclusive to South Korea and China carries a spectacular price tag of KRW 1,155,000 or about $1020. Consumers can still pre-order the special edition of the Galaxy S8+, but Samsung advises that the second batch will start shipping as late as the end of May. A free DeX docking station is offered to all early adopters of the beefed up flagship.

The Seoul-based tech giant also reports that it has managed to sell a total of 620,000 S8/S8+ units in Korea so far, which indicates that the two 2017 flagships will very likely become the best-selling Samsung smartphones in history. As you may know, the company boasted that it managed to sell 550,000 units in the first two days on its home turf alone. That's a massive 150,000 units more than the Note 7 before it, and whopping 5.5 times more than the Galaxy S7.

It still remains to be seen how the Galaxy S8 and S8+ will perform on the global market, but so far, all the prerequisites for a grand slam are present.

Off topic, but PA, why doesnt this site have a forum where we can create threads on topics concerning any type of phone at least for a start. Or what do you think?

That would require a lot of web development and resources to host, look at the volume of adverts on here, it's actually disgusting and I will turn it off the second they tone it down. You're better off making a subreddit if that's something you want.

No it does not. PA can create a community page using community tools like PHPBB which is FREE and already has a XDA type communtiy based coding already. Moderators can create topics and users can post and create sub-topics with no issue. You have no idea how much development it would take. The fact is, it would take ZERO developemnt. Its already been done. Here see for yourself. I do web design and have added PHPBB to many sites including sites where people use Joomla, CSS, HTML only and more. https://www.phpbb.com/ Stop speaking of things you don't have any facts about! Community Forum have been around for years. In fact they are so down to a science that if your webpage is backed by MSSQL or MYSQL as an example, you literally can add a Community Forum with 5 clicks. You have no idea what you are talking about! There are CSS based scripts that you unzip into a web folder. You use any browser to run the script and it sets everything up. All you have to do is go in the admin side of the page and you can tweat all the settings. It literally takes less than 5 mins to setup and the only thing extra is tweaking settings. Even theming the UI is as easiy as copying themes to the folder logging in and picking one.

Yes they can go up to 64gb but people now buy more phone thаn Desktop pc .. this is my point ..BTW i always prefer a desktop pc and i will never change my mind. Because 6 gb of ram on the phone and 6 gb of ram on the pc is not similar.

I kinda see what he is saying if he is talking about using PC's less because phone have come so far. I think I have had to turn my PC on 3 or 4 times in over a year. I can do everything on my note 5. I guess if I was a big game player I would still use my PC but I am not.

That should've been the standard version. Stop doing this Samsung.

Sammy should have just hds the S8 with 6GB in all markets period for the exact same price as they are now. Then it would have made perfect since for the Note to have it too. Not saying we need 6GB. Just saying since the Galaxy S is its flagship device, it should get the better specs before the Note does, even if the Note gets the same specs at the end of the year. Samsung I think pulled another fast one. The lame excuse that only Chinese OEM's are doing this is BS. One Chinese OEM released a phone in the US with 6GB of RAM and are about to have an even newer one with 8GB and for less money. Even if the 6 or 8GB they are using is a slower type, I rather have more of the slower type than less of the faster. The S6 not coming with sdcard support because you didnt work to make a controller to deal with the speed difference in sdcard vs internal storage is one thing. But RAM is quite another and it was a douche move to give a country where you have less sales a better version of a product vs a country where you have more sales If anything, the US should get 6GB and the rest of the world get 4GB. This is a BS move on Samsung's part considering the US is everyone's biggest market. NO ONE IS BIGGER THAN US. GIVE US THE BEST FIRST! This is the type of BS other OEM's do -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qW2-TIbcTIg Don't be like "them" Samsung!
