Galaxy S8 info signup page leaks, hints at top screen-to-body ratio
If, after all the leaks and concept images, you ever doubted how the Galaxy S8 will look like, the latest tip from Evan Blass of @evleaks fame should dispel your doubts that this phone will be like no other Android so far. He posted what appears to be a signup page teaser for information about the "Next Galaxy," and we all know what that means.

Samsung is rumored to tease the Galaxy S8 for a minute or so during tomorrow's press event, so that might be the page that will go live at that time. In any case, it depicts a radically shrunk bezel, both at the top and at the bottom.

Together with the rumored flexible AMOLED display that curves slightly to the sides, these could result a phone that has the best screen-to-body ratio of all brand name Androids this side of the Xiaomi Mi Mix. The leaked LG G6 also seems to have a pretty remarkable screen-to-body ratio, but, if this silhouette you see below is any indication, the S8 will likely beat it in that respect, what do you think?

This year is all about screen to body ration(Finally), S8, the G6 , special iPhone X, and probably some others. I wonder who is going to win. From leaks the G6 and S8 look close to having the same ratio TBH.

I think the s8 will win this battle tbh (sceen to body ratio) but for sheer design, engineering mastery and polish, i think the iphone x will blow the competition away tbh. If rumors of the black monolith is anything to go by, i mean, the rumors are just too good to be true. Something that has seemingly taking johny ive's time for 3 and a half years now. U can bet that the iphone will be bringing it this year..

I'm inclined to agree +1.

It hard to say about the iPhone screen to body ratio. Without the home button, it could be anything. I just think people are so use to that home button being there, it's hard to see anything else in an iPhone.

I'm all for it if it means not ruining natural way of holding a mobile device. That one chinese phone already has hundreds complaining that its a pain in the ass to handle with the low bezels.

I am really looking forward to the S8+. 6.2 inch but I am quite sure that its dimension will only be a little bit bigger than the note 7 because of the minimal bezel.

they are actually taller phones, the wideness is the same.

I dont undestand the hype of the s8 removing the home button and having tiny bezels. I tought phones as far back as the lg g2, lg nexus 5, moto x and nexus 6 in 2013 and 14 had no home button and had very minimal tiny bezels? Some of them even having stereo front firing speakers to go with it?

Yes, they didn't have the home button, but none of them had minimal top and bottom bezels.

The LG "G" series does. The S8 bezels are slightly thinner, but not so much to fuss about. Heck, I even think the Note 7 had thin top and bottom bezels. To me, it looks like Samsung is trying to ride the praise(prior to the fires) of the Note 7 and relaunch it as the S8 sans the pen.

There is no hype around the on-screen buttons. I am big time Sammy fan and this is quite disappointing. I can buy any other android phone now. However having like 90% of the phone screen is awesome.

That is 89% screen body ratio, according to that leak.

Has that taken the curve into account? That could take it over 90%

big fan of sammy but i am not sure how i feel about this one. It's starting to look like any other android phone. longer phones, on screen buttons, a fingerprint on the back. I will hold off till official release to pass my judgment on it but it's starting to look like a good time to jump ship and try IOS for once

"Big fan of sammy" yeap, because sammy fans will just shout it out loud and then complain and then "wants to jump ship". Im sure you can try harder. Lol

well considering that i think Samsung makes the best android phones why on earth would i jump to an another android phone? 90% of all android phones use on screen buttons which is a huge turn off for me?

big fan of a company doesn't make me a naive fanboy who buys every single product they put out even if i don't like it.

Bringing smaller bezels with curved edges will make this phone hard to beat form factor wise... With beefy internals coming for the ride too it's going to be the beauty and the beast!

Yeah but what new tech is it really bringing to the table? We saw thin top and bottom bezels with curved edges with the Note 7. Actually, Sammy has been doing cured edges for 3 years now. It nothing new anymore. They should have put the fingerprint scanner in the screen or offered true wireless charging or something. This is what's making the new iPhone intriguing. True, we have to wait and see if any of that comes to fruition, but the rumors have been steady and Apple has to have been doing something to make folks wait 3 years for something new. All that with being an anniversary year and a new headquarters opening, I'm expecting them to come out swinging!!

High screen ratio is nice and all, I get many want smaller bezels, but it just doesn't seem practical, at least for people with larger hands, way too easy to get false inputs simply from holding, unless they improve rejection tech a good bit.

Edge screen without a curve is your friend!
