Enhanced notifications unveiled: Android 'L' release gets easy to dismiss pop-up cards
Google's Android 'L' release is getting a brand new style of notifications. The enhanced notifications system now goes to your lock screen, where it shows the most important ones and hides ones that are not top-priority. Slide down, just like you'd slide a deck of cards, and you reveal the remaining (the lower-priority) notifications.

Another cool new feature of the new Android notifications is the way you are notified when inside an app where the message would now pop up on top of what you are seeing, allowing you to see them without them getting in the way. Not just that, though - you'd be able to dismiss them or act on them right away. Imagine playing a game while receiving an invitation for a group video call: now, you don't have to slide down the notification center - you can just accept or decline the invitation right away.

All the notification enhancements can be summed up in three categories:

  • Lockscreen notifications
  • Prioritized notifications
  • Heads up notifications
Take a look at how this all will look like in the new Android 'L' release right below.

At least try to be slightly funny in your jokes, I know it's hard given your intelligence, but try to make an effort ;)

iOS copy's Android. Android copy's WP. WP copy's Android. iOS copy's WP. Android copy's iOS. That's how the industry works. "Copying" isn't always a bad thing. Android 5.0 looks good. Sure, they've taken some cues from iOS & WP, but it sure looks sexy. Now Android users can get some flat and modern UI goodness. :)

Am I right or wrong here, I have Note 3, but when my Note 3 gets Android 5.0 does that mean when I go on Apps when I get 5.0 will the status bar go the same colour as the App? What I am trying to say when I get Android 5.0 on My Note 3 when I go on Apps the Status bar will go the same colour as the app instead of the same boring black, Am I right on wrong?, Hopefully I am right, cause I have always wanted this cause I find it cool on iOS and I'd love it if Android 5.0 had the same. Hopefully I am right.

Install Xposed Framework with Tinted status bar and you can already have this ;)

Should I really dig to get this through Wanam Xposed or Install a Vanilla ROM to get this ? Should I spent the time to do it ? Google should have targeted the fragmentation problem dude. You sir keep defending Google! You claimed that I don't even have a Note 3 just judging by my OLD username and that's because I was saying the truth that my Note 3 would take time to receive this update. Please stop this. Start thinking instead of making excuses and trying to find a way. I'm sorry if I'm harsh but it was annoying

Hey I apologized already (see below) and I'm not defending Google, just saying you can have this already. It was a tip, nothing more, nothing less. That doesn't mean Google shouldn't pay attention to this (and other issues). And I judged you by the tone of that message and some other misinformation, for which I already apologized.

No, I don't wan't to root, I wan't Google to add the way iOS is, It looks really old with a big black chunky Status bar every app you go in to.

I suffer from the same problem. I have a Note 3 too. Nexus users are lucky. We have to admit that this feature is needed and for me it's essential. I use Facebook Home to fix this. Not to mention that we have to wait for at least 5 months to get this update aka 5.0 or L. I wish Google focused on these stuff rather than just a simple redesign

I really want the same status bar iOS has into Google where when you go into Apps the Status bar goes the same colour as the App instead of always having a big black chunky status bar always at the top it looks so old man with the big black status bar it's annoying :(

Just added the Heads Up notifications to my N5 yesterday and this looks to be an even better version of it.
