EVO 4G's first commercial celebrates other firsts

EVO 4G's first commercial celebrates other firsts
Love it or hate it, there is no question that the HTC EVO 4G is a groundbreaking phone. The nation's first 4G handset is a stunning piece of technology and the first television commercial for the phone celebrates other "firsts" that have paved the way to bigger and better things. "Firsts" such as the wheel, the phonograph, the typewriter and the movie camera are some of the world's more important firsts. We then see cassette tape recorders evolve into calculators which evolves into the big boxy Motorola cellphones from the early days of wireless. Next we see the StarTAC flip phones, a BlackBerry and then the EVO 4G. "First moves us forward first. We all want first," says the announcer. It is a nice, visual ad that does show how things evolve. The commercial is a huge improvement over the Palm Pre spots that did nothing for Sprint when the webOS device was launched last year at about this time. "First is now," the announcer continues. Sprint, of course, is "The Now Network". A subtle hint, perhaps, that Verizon and AT&T should be looking over their shoulders?

I'm very happy to get this phone and I think it will help sprint alot...but Sprint has alot of work to do this is a step in the right direction but thats all this will be is a step towards progress. To say if AT&T or Verizon should look over their shoulder is a little much these 2 companies are on fire and have remained that way with marketing, product, and customers. Sprint has alot to accomplish but i really think they can stop losing customers if they continue with the good customer service that they have had recently. They have great plans and pretty descent phones. They just have to continue righting their wrongs and I can see Sprint in some years to come getting closer to the top 2 carriers...

Go to Sprint's website and search their 4G coverage areas.. and then try not to laugh. Their commercials about 4G this, and 4G that, are just bogus.

Yeah thats why Tmo isnt bragging about HSPA+ yet cuz the coverage is too premature.

This commercial is just dumb and aimless. If I wasnt sort of a phone guru then I would definently not be a person moved toward Sprint or that device even. It didnt do the phone justice at all.

Seriously...way to highlight NONE of the new features Sprint...You'd think they would learn after seeing iPhone commercials and the "Droid Does" campaign that thats what moves people....Showcase the product and its features!

The phone may or may not help Sprint. I have been with Sprint since 96 or 97, and as a Premier customer I had to go out of my home to order it even though I preordered it online. They will fail with this type of customer service. I ordered my phone from radio shack and don't have to pay extra to be rebated. I feel cheated because my family is with Verizon, and my son and brother ordered on line and got instant rebates for being a premier customer and buying online, and the phone was sent and arrived in is home the day of the launch. I am self employed business is slow but in ther next 2 years if nothing is different off to Verizon I go! The commercial shows that Sprint has Legacy olf men running the business. They haven't got a clue on how to rech main stream America. This says that they pass temporarily, but will fail ultimately I think! Verizon may cost more, but they have it done right. Sprint Should not be holding it's customers hostage for 4g when they are not in a 4g net work area. They are geredy and toatally bogus!

Quit crying its still significatly less cost to the customer than anything. Have fun buying from radio shack when you everything family plan turns into all individual plans. Lol. Anyone that knows advertising knows its not about what features but what brings in more customers...
