Check out Apple's Olympics ad "The Human Family"; here are 5 apps for the Olympics selected by Apple

Apple's Olympics ad debuted last night. Part of the Shot on iPhone campaign, the ad is titled "The Human Family" and is voiced by poet Maya Angelou. While she reads her poem, the screen shows a number of submissions Apple has received for its photography based ads and billboards. The poem is perfect for the Olympics where athletes from so many different countries compete.

Speaking of the Olympics, Apple has devoted a special section of the App Store to the Rio 2016 games. There are five apps available including the official Olympics app which includes news, highlights, results and records. The Rio 2016 app includes the official schedule, real-time results and the medal count. Made for those competing in the games, the Olympic Athletes' Hub gives Olympic athletes a way to connect to each other.

The remaining two apps are games. One contains six fast-action mini games. The other lets you run through beaches as Vinicius, the official mascot of the 2016 Olympics. All five apps are free.

Most ads that were aired were very touching/emotional/enjoyable, especially the one by Nike(?) when everyone was training and the dude was running from the dog. Gotta love Olympic/Super Bowl/World Cup ads

Are there any apps geared towards staying alive while in Rio?

Really? Is this just another false flag event intended for mass mis-information?

It's not nearly as bad as the media portrays it. It's much worse.

"Apple has devoted a special section of the App Store to the Rio 2016 games" lol seriously Apple the most valuable company in the world has only a devoted section to the Rio Olympic, while Samsung is given all participants a special edition Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, Apple that's really really cheap.

Apple is showing interest, Samsung is advertising - Samsung is getting ad space on all banners, billboards, uniforms, and etc in return. Grow up and learn how this works. This is samsungs deal to advertise their name. Giving a few devices away is cheap change for Samsung. Clearly you're too young to know how this works or too dunce to realize it. But mark my words, you'll see same people that received these free special Samsung devices still tweeting and using iPhones (as before).
