BlackBerry PlayBook 2.0 already on 44% of devices
It looks like users were really waiting on the software update for the BlackBerry PlayBook, because a new study by Chitika shows that the update has already been installed on almost 44% of PlayBooks in the market. The update has only been live for one week, but Chitika is saying that the update has already made it out to 43.7% of PlayBooks.

Admittedly, the update was automatic in many instances, which would help greatly in overall adoption, but we like to think that the quick adoption is because PlayBook users wanted to finally have a fully functional tablet for once. The PlayBook 2.0 software brought some huge improvements like native e-mail, contacts and calendar, so there is no more need for connecting to your BB phone to access those features, and the update also brought the Android app player which allows PlayBook users to run Android apps.

At this rate of adoption, Chitika estimates that 75% of PlayBooks should be on the new software in about 2 weeks from now.
