BBM Shop now offering Angel Cat Sugar stickers

BBM users who like to use stickers, now have a new option. Angel Cat Sugar stickers are now being offered from the BBM Shop for $1.99. The characters come from the mind of Yuko Shimizu, the original designer of Hello Kitty. BlackBerry touts its stickers as being bolder versions of emoticons that can be used inside a chat. And charging for them allows BlackBerry to monetize the messaging app, which has over 91 million users across iOS, Windows Phone and Android.

Other stickers available from the BBM Shop include Hunger Games Mockingjay, Kung Fu Panda, Underdog, Legally Blonde, SpongeBob, Lion King and the Disney Princess Collection. While those all will cost you some moola, there is a set of BBM Stickers that will cost you nothing to use.

BlackBerry has been polishing up BBM to increase its value. Facebook paid $42 for each WhatsApp member when it agreed to buy the messaging app earlier this year. By continuing to make improvements to the application, and attracting more subscribers, BlackBerry hopes to have an asset it can sell or spin off if it needs a major infusion of cash.

Wasn't too much of a fan of the stickers at first, but they've grown on me now. They're actually quite fun to use.
