Audio Technica's new Bluetooth headphones look great for sports

Audio Technica has a brand new pair of sporty Bluetooth neck-bud headphones - the ATH-SPORT70BT model - and we got to spend some time with them at CES 2018, so here are our first impressions.

The Audio-Technica ATH-SPORT70BT headphones are super lightweight and the wire can be adjustable so nothing is flapping. This means that the actual experience of wearing them is very comfortable and fitting for an intense workout. On the flipside of things, they are pretty conservative in terms of looks and styling, so they might not be everyone's cup of tea if you value the visual appearance.

The one thing that we did notice is that these headphones feel a bit flimsy-made, so you do not have a rock solid construction. We would need to spend more time with them to see whether this is something you should be really worried about, but you might want to consider this before purchasing.

Another key feature for fitness enthusiasts is sweat-proofing, and these headphones have it, which is reassuring. The headphones are rated IPX5 in terms of their water protection. This means that they are "Protected against water spray from all directions", but you should NOT submerge them in water. The rating is mostly there to ensure the headphones are sweat-proof.

The ATH-SPORT70BT come with a neat hear-through function that allows you to listen and be aware to your environment by flipping a switch. This is nice when you are in a gym and you can switch from the bliss of music to actually hearing when someone asks you a question without having to take your headphones off.

The headphones come with a battery that lasts up to 6 hours of continuous music playback, a solid number in line with other rivals in this category. The price for these headphones is set at $130.
