Archos shows new budget Android smartphones with big displays at MWC 2015
At MWC 2015, French electronics vendor Archos premièred its yearly collection of affordable Android smartphones. It's spearheaded by the 50 Oxygen Plus is powered by an octa-core 1.4GHz MediaTek chip that's coupled with 1GB of RAM, and its 5-inch display has a 720x1280 resolution. The smartphone runs Android 4.4 KitKat, and a 4G LTE-connected version that runs Android 5.0 Lollipop might be on its way. Its spec sheet is completed by an 8-megapixel rear cam and a 5-megapixel selfie cam. The 50 Oxygen's 3G variant will be released in March, priced in the sub-$200 segment, while the 4G LTE version is expected in June. However, we don't know which destinations the device is heading to.

Next comes the trio of Archos 52 Platinium, 59 Xenon, and 62 Xenon. They have 1.3GHz quad-core Mediatek processors, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage, and microSD card slots. All have 8MP cameras adorning their back panels, but the 52 Platinum and 59 Xenon have 2MP selfie cams, and the 62 Xenon sports a 5MP one. They are different in screen sizes, too - the 52 Platinum has a 5.25-inch display, the 59 Xenon comes with a 5.9-incher, and the 62 Xenon has a huge 6.27-inch screen. The screen resolution for all three is 720x1280. The pricing is shaping up to be $145 for the 52 Platinum, $158 for the 59 Xenon, and $170 for the 62 Xenon. The exact availability and release dates haven't been detailed.
