Apple iPad users get their own Apple Store app
The Apple iPad finally has its own app for the Apple Store. While many iPad users will be happy to have a tablet-specific version of the app, the more cynical will notice that it comes just in time for the holiday shopping season. The native iPad Apple Store app offers the same features found on the iPhone version of the app. That means viewing high-resolution shots of Apple products. And using your fingers to pinch and swipe, you can set up product comparisons that you want to see. And instead of looking at this through a 3.5 inch or 4 inch screen, you have the luxury of seeing this on a 7.9 inch or 9.7 inch panel.

Employing the extra real estate on the slate, the app allows you to really get a good look at the Apple devices on your shopping list. Considering Apple's expertise in separating you from your cash, you know that they didn't spare anything in developing the App Store app for the Apple iPad. Since Apple has just released this app, it won't work on anything other than iOS 7 or later.

Avoid the lines, the crowds and the expense of gasoline by shopping from home this year. The new Apple Store app for the iPad helps you take the experience of shopping at an Apple Store and puts it right on your tablet. The app will also allow you to get free engraving on your new iPad or iPod. You can place an order directly from the app and pick it up later at a nearby Apple Store, or just have it shipped to you. How easy is that?

What Apple really needs to do is combine their iTunes and Appstores into one app, especially as iTunes has offered far more than just 'tunes' for many years now. Google's Play Store is exponentially better integrated and easier to use... A TRUE One Stop Shop for All One's Media Desires/Needs. Knowing Apple... They'll be following Google's lead soon enough.

Agreed. There's so many 'stores' I have to put them all in one folder otherwise the whole screen is taken up with the icons. App store, iTunes, iBooks, podcasts, newsstand...

Depends, you then end up cluttering one store too much. Google has an amazing search and therefore, they are more able to combine everything. If Apple did so, they would have to really get an amazing algorithm to crawl all that stuff. It is a bit of a hassle right now, but it may just be better than their combined effort. So for now I think it is just fine as is with multiple stores, each specializing in one aspect, so anyone with an interest in something particular only has to look through what interests them.

I think if they added homescreens for apps and keep the main home screen with the metro theme it would be pretty awesome. sort of like the HTC one with blink feed but with more functionality.
