Apparently, you can make your Samsung Galaxy Note5's rear cover transparent
Although Samsung today unveiled two new Galaxy Note5 color options (Silver Titanium and Pink Gold), if you're buying the handset (in any color), there will still be plenty of other people who own exactly the same model as you. Of course, you could get a personalized case, or you could buy this 24K gold-plated Note5 (if you have $1450 to spare). But what else can you do to make the device stand out from other Note5 units? Well, it turns out that you can make its back cover fully transparent.

Reddit user Skarface08 has managed to transform his Note5's glass-made rear cover by heating it up (with a heat gun), then using a suction cup to remove it, and a razor blade to peel off the colored film. The result: a see-through back that lets everyone take a look at the innards of the device. The entire process doesn't seem to be too complicated (there's even a short video of it at the second source link below). However, unless you really know what you're doing, we don't advise you to try this at home - not to mention the fact that removing the back plate and its color will likely void the phone's warranty.

So he just lost like 30% of value on the phone. Seriously that looks bad and nerdy. The colored film is there for a reason. Some ppl just have too much timeon their hands.

The film keeps the back glass together if it shatters. Drop this mod, and you have no phone back. Other than that, it's awesome!

This reminds me of those old nokias which had transparent plastic shells. They looked cool!!

Looks super cool, but don't want to void warranty or my protection plan. Not trying this in next 2 years.

This is like a teasing lapdance from the battery as it goes yeah I'm sexy but look and don't touch unless you're willing to pay.

It's ugly. This is unlike for example a cool transparent mechanical watch that show how it work inside. It's only show the plastic construction inside with untidy screw and that ugly yellow antenna.

Typical geek they really have bad taste or doesn't care about aesthetic at all. As long it has removable battery and Micro SD (lol) it's fine even if the phone looks bulky or hideous.

I like it. I wish Samsung offered this option from the factory. It's like being able to see the internals of a watch.
