App previews (video demos) finally coming to the App Store

A feature that iOS users really needed for quite a lot of time — and one that's been available on Android for ages — is finally going to make its way to Apple's mobile platform. Ladies and gents, with iOS 8, Apple will finally enable application developers to treat users with video trailers and demos of their apps, in addition to just screenshots.

Hooray! While screenshots work for most apps, there are still some more advanced pieces of software that totally require to be seen in action by the user in order to create a good enough impression about the capabilities and experience of the app. Meanwhile, games are an app category that absolutely needs that kind of functionality in order to woo users more easily.

As it has been revealed at the WWDC 2014 keynote today, just like on Android, iOS 8 will let users see promo video of apps or games in the screenshots area of each title. How cool is that! Well, yeah, we totally agree that the feature had to be implemented a lot of time ago, but you know what they say - better late than never!
