Android 5.0 Lollipop for Samsung Galaxy Note II confirmed again

Android 5.0 Lollipop for Samsung Galaxy Note II confirmed again
Back in December, we told you that Samsung Finland had added the Galaxy Note II to the list of devices upgradeable to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Now, Samsung Poland is also confirming, via Twitter, that the handset (which was originally released back in 2012) would be updated to Lollipop. However, it's not clear exactly when this is supposed to happen, though we assume that Samsung is planning to roll out the update in the following months.

Meanwhile, Samsung Finland hasn't changed its mind, still showing on its website that Lollipop is indeed coming to the venerable Note II - so we have two official sources that are confirming the update. Since the US variants of the Note II use the same Exynos 4412 Quad processor as the European models, we're obviously expecting the handset to get Lollipop in the US, too. Of course, exact timing will be carrier dependent.

In September, the Galaxy Note II will be 3 years old, so it's quite awesome that Samsung isn't forgetting about it. We'll keep an eye on this, and let you know when the Lollipop update for the handset is ready.

But only for flagships. They should provide this to all Galaxies.

You get what you pay for. If you buy their flagships, they will treat you well. If you buy their s**tty low end phones, they will treat you like s**t. Same goes to every other Android manufacturers, except Motorola.

Then don't buy either. What about Note (first one)?

That Snapdragon S3 processor makes it impossible for them to do anything.

I hope Samsung would do that. But it seems to be too burdensome for it. Anyway, Samsung did its best already, that no other can archive.

Count, the touchwiz on my note is so slow, any launcher works much faster than it, the design almost the same for the past three years from the lowest phone till the flagships. Amazed by thier processors indeed.

Wow, that's impressive, especially for a phone that's from 2012. Others should learn from Samsung on this one.

That's even older, and in many cases with lesser RAM

Note 2 has better specs than S3... I think S3 hasnt even KitKat hehehe

The S3 does have Kitkat, 4.4.2. At least on Sprint it does.

It will be stuck with critically bugged 5.0.x, and never get 5.x

So you actually snuck into the offices of Samsung and read a top secret memo that said they were going to plague users with buggy software after updating a three year old device and just wave the finger to them? Okay Arte.
