OnePlus 5T missing features: 8 things that would've made it better

Well, just like last year, OnePlus has again chosen to refresh its flagship phone after just 6 months of life. It's an incremental improvement, which brings the phone a bit more in line with the 18:9 trend of 2017 and adds a few improvements here and there — here's the complete list.

But are the new tweaks enough to make the OnePlus 5T the perfect phone? Hardly — there's no perfect phone out there. And if one were to nitpick, they'd definitely find some faults in the latest "flagship killer".

You guessed it — that's exactly what we are about to do. Here are 7 things that would've made the OnePlus 5T more awesome!

Ingress protection should have made the cut but rest is surely nitpicking

Nitpicking? Are you kidding me? First compare LG V30 size with 5T with the same sized screen. There was sufficient place to keep fp sensor up front, or maybe move it to the side and even sufficient space to add stereo speakers. Yes, that matters! Second, no water-proofing, no OIS, no optical zoom or wide angle either, and no expendable storage. So, this is quite basic, overpriced, mid level phone, lacking loads of features.

You can keep the V30 and it's cartoon bloated software. Even the best stereo speakers sound lame compared to headphones. I don't take my phone swimming or put it in the shower, so that's of no concern. We all have different needs. I want a phone that performs, and I'm sorry, but the current crop of phones (save the Note 8) just can't multi-task and use RAM as efficiently as the OnePlus phones. Maybe reserve judgement until there are some actual reviews.

"ven the best stereo speakers sound lame compared to headphones. " What if you don't have headphones on the spot than? Most people don't want to plug in their headphones to listen to something, smartphone speakers do the job for them

That would be nice. But its still a solid phone. If it was Apple theyd charge you $200 mare for a plus which has a few upgrades. 5t is a $20 increase which is worth it imo.

No ois no headphones in the box No waterproofing Smaller battery then OP5 No Qhd screen (with pentile matrix it should be qhd). Price it fine but it's not like a bargain imo.

I always prefer a FHD phone with longer battery to the QHD one with short battery.

FHD would be great if it isnt pentile but AMOLED uses diamond pentile arrangement that would surely decrease the actual ppi on the screen which results less sharp images

To thing that I could get an OPO for £229/269 and now it's £450/500

Today you can get a OPO for cheaper than that. The OP5/5T is a different phone with advanced features/hardware so of course it's going to cost more

Check Mate 10.. It got Front FPscanner, and still have better screen-to-body ratio compared to OP5T

1. Oneplus one had stereo speakers so put them back. 2. OIS is on all the best cameras 3. Front fingerprint scanner (with hardware buttons) is best because you have option to use our not 4. Water proofing is a nice-to-have as the price increases

Why can't they fit a 4000mah battery like htc and huawei? THAT is the most important missing feature IMO !

A part of me thinks that OEM's are 2 years ahead in R&D and will never make an all around "great phone" because you wouldn't buy another one next year

Having a 4000mah in the Huawei didn't give it longer battery life over the 3300mah in the OnePlus 5 nor Note 8: There's a lot more to battery life than just battery capacity.

Please do a google search and you will quickly find out that in just every battery test the mate 10 PRO did much better than the v30 or any of the galaxies! In your test it's the non pro version of the mate that was tested. And of course there is more to batterly life than just battery capacity, but that is absolutely no reason (excuse) not to implement a larger battery!

"18. Gsmalltheway (Posts: 208; Member since: 15 Aug 2009) why woud you want the fingerprint scanner on the front?" I wouldn't, back is perfect for me, more natural. OIS would have been nice but not a deal breaker. Rest is just nit picking.

ingress protection is where is at. Lost my phone in a river and a diver picked it up 2 nights later and called a friend for me to retrieve it
