Samsung's Fast Charge Wireless Charging Pad (for the Note5 and S6 edge+) costs $69.99

Last week, when Samsung announced the Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 edge+, the company also revealed a brand new wireless charging pad which supports fast wireless charging.

Called Samsung Fast Charge Wireless Charging Pad (never mind the redundancy), the new accessory can charge the Note5 or the Galaxy S6 edge+ "up to 1.4x faster than standard wireless charging pads", according to Samsung, thus reducing the charging time from 0% to 100% by up to 50 minutes. Of course, the Fast Charge Wireless Charging Pad also works with other devices that support wireless charging, but these won't be able to take advantage of the fast charging capability.

Samsung didn't say when the Fast Charge Wireless Charging Pad will be released. However, the accessory is now listed as "coming soon" over at Samsung's US website. The pad costs $69.99, and has two color versions: white and blue.

If you don't think a wireless charging pad is worth $70, but still want one, you could buy your Galaxy Note5 or S6 edge+ from BestBuy, which is offering a free wireless charging pad with each of the new handsets. However, this isn't the new Fast Charge Wireless Charging Pad, but an older model that was introduced at the same time with the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge.
