Yes, we know - you can always have your Android calendar count down the days to an upcoming event. But isn't your calendar chock-full of appointments, birthdays, and other important stuff already? If you don't want to add additional clutter, "outsource" your event countdowns to a handy app like Downcount.

A simple, yet wonderfully styled app, it lets you add events and count the time to them in a familiar Android card-style view. There are some Material Design elements to give it that modern edge as well - meaning plenty of white space, bold colors, big characters, and smooth animations.

Adding new events is a breeze that takes just a press of the "+" button and defining a date. This way, you can easily see how many days it has been since you were born, for example. Entries can be easily edited by tapping on each card, or deleted by swiping it.

The app's functionality is completed by a simple card-style widget, which puts a countdown on your home-screen.

Downcount is free, but it also has a paid version which has the ads removed, and is eligible to receive extra features in the long run. Not that the app really needs any, but it has to grow somehow, right?
