All in all, a good little phone

The Alcatel OT-708 (also rebadged as a Vodafone 541 in other countries - exactly the same phone, just a different name on it ) is a pretty good phone. It's looks are amazing, and the features it has are not top class, but still rather good. While it is a touchscreen phone, don't expect it to rival the iPhone, or indeed most other touchscreen phones; it doesn't. However, if you want a very good priced touchscreen phone, with all the features of normal phones, that looks really good, it is hard not to consider this phone.I bought the rebadged phone (Vodafone version) for 40 GBP in the United Kingdom, which equates to roughly $60, but prices may vary. I can confirm the Alcatel comes in silver, green and blue, while the Vodafone comes in red, black, white and pink.

Design 10/10
Features 8/10
Performance 9/10

  • Cheap for a touchscreen phone
  • Looks very good
  • Touchscreen very accurate-responds with the gentlest of touches

  • No keyboard layout when texting, which would be very useful
  • Little original memory space
