AT&T 3G network shutdown: Will your phone still work or do you need a new one
It's the 5G era... Hurrah! You need to buy the latest iPhone right now! No, not really.

3G networks across the US are going to shut down sooner or later. In fact, the process has been delayed due to miscommunication issues, while carriers have been trying to get the word out - some people will need to upgrade their old device.

Now, AT&T has made it much easier for those who were on the fence. You can access a long list (first spotted by XDA) that shows exactly which phones will keep working after the 3G networks are shut down. If your device isn't on the list, you probably need to upgrade. It's important to say that you have plenty of time - AT&T's 3G network isn't shutting down until February 22, 2022.

The good news is there are plenty reasons to upgrade your old phone. Modern devices have much improved cameras, battery life, and they are overall much more future-proof. Don't believe us? Check out the best AT&T phones to buy in 2021 to see for yourself.
