Oh my goodness. Look at all these android fanboys trying so hard. Especially sniggly, hahahaha. The iOS5 is soooooo awesome, and you android fanboys are sooooo jealous. I won't be surprised to learn that some android fanboys might just get converted to switch to the iphone :)

Bluetooth x-fer between Android/iOS:http://bu.mp/ You can customize ring tones, but I agree, it is cumbersome. It's not simply downloading a file and calling it a ringtone, it's a process. Download the file, drag to iTunes, adjust play time to be

Finally got the phones working. Checked Mac rumors forums and seems its a problem for many people on all iPhones and iPads they think because the install has to check with apple about 2/3 of the way thru, after the installer removes everything from the device. The only solution is to reboot phone/ pad and iTunes and try again and again due to busy apple servers. Seems the installer should leave your phone alone unless it's sure it can complete the upgrade install. That would only be common sense instead of freaking so many people out with disabled devices and bad installs.

iOS 5 and superior iPhone performance + cheaper iPhone + more carriers. Apple is going to choke the life out of android like a boa constrictor. This article is full of droidbots with excuses, but it doesn't change reality. When people have a choice they choose Apple. ON TOPIC: I've been using iOS 5 since noon and love it. Very smooth experience. I love the updates to email and calendar. Notifications are great. I'm excited about iCloud. I found out backing up apps goes against your 5gb limit so I'll back up only contacts, settings, calendar and pictures. Apps I can back up on my pc.

Let's see what happens now with a cheaper iPhone option and on 3 of 4 major carriers. I'm betting android market share will take a big dip.

considering 1/3 of androids phones are free.. well...and that they have to replace every 3 months.. sure.. your theory is just about right...

Taco, I know that this is a difficult concept for you to grasp, but people-regular, normal people, and not just techies- can and do prefer Android over iOS. I've dealt with them today. Just like there are people who like the iPhone no matter what alternatives exist, there are now loyal Android customers.

Then why do you guys crap all over every Apple article trying to convince everyone android is better?

Who says that's what my goal here is? I'm just here to express my opinions, and if someone else says something I believe to be glaringly wrong, then I step up then too. And especially when someone like you comes along and decides to be completely combative I indulge you because I like to argue. I mean, in the end it just comes down to which OS we each prefer. Did you know that if you didn't insist on insulting everyone and being a jerk all the time I'd like you? Sure, we disagree on some things, but you're passionate about this topic too, and you sometimes do post intelligent or factual comments. If you didn't get worked up over the idea that we Android guys dare post on Apple articles like these and crack jokes about Apple and the iPhone, you'd probably have a lot more fun here. You're a good guy/girl, Taco. I'd vouch for you if you'd only agree to join forces with me in stopping the hostility.

@sniggly. So app developers aren't techies then? They prefer the iOS platform over android any day. Also, there is no study or census to prove your statement. Btw, using my ipad right now in landscape with the split keyboard. Sweet :)

And I'm using my Atrix 4G, which you guys would insist is too buggy and crappy to use properly. If developers prefer iOS so much, why does Android Market keep catching up to the App store?

Love iOS5. It's awesome. No bitter and hateful comments from android fanboys can change my jovial mood :) It's not like what you android fanboys say make a difference anyway, hahahahahaha

Restored my 3GS "to factory settings", then restored last backup, just before the update. Now have several screens asking about turning Location services on, sign in to Apple store, asks for your birthday, agree to terms, taking a few minutes "to set up your Apple ID". All this done on the phone while iTunes just says "restoring iPhone apps" while the green progress bar moves. Same sequence of events as with my wifes. Asks to use iCloud or not... to allow dignostics to be sent... Says iPhone successfully set up, would you like to set a passcode now? Phone says its ready to use. unplugged & plugged back in. All of my unerased mail is gone, but the accounts are still there. New MUSIC icon insead of ipod, says no music, its in VIDEO folder. But its not. iTunes now says "Are you sure you want to stop restoring your iPhone? Only some of the contents were restored", despite the phone saying it was ready, which it wasnt. So I'll bite, and hit "Continue restore" button.. Now get " An error occurred while restoring this phone (-402xxxxxx). Exact same sequence of events as my wifes phone on her computer. Me thinks Apple has a rotten core on this update, at least for 3GS. Its trashed. Lot of work ahead. Now iTUnes says

Jeez some of these iOS vs Android wars can be passionate O_O Anyone else having trouble receiving the update? I keep on getting the 3200 error code =/

91. Dave FL unregistered

WARNING! Be advised this trashed both my 3GS and my wifes 3GS, each on our own separate laptops. Then it trashed her apps, books and music on the phone completely and stuff in iTunes. I'm going thru the restore process now to try to go back to the 4.5 I think, it was on my phone. Had an error pop up, it was 4 digits that indicated it couldn't restore before it couldnt restore... makes sense. It was like 3804 or something. Also go a "couldn't contact Apple server " error. THis was 5 pm EDT on Wednesday 10/12. Good luck!

I'm going to download this on my iPhone and see how I like it. But I love my Epic Touch so much more.
