Bizarrely enough, while all the specifications remain under wraps, ZTE has decided to build further buzz for its next flagship model by... sharing a high-res product image on Chinese social media.
We’re not talking about an obscured or blurred-out photograph in any way, mind you, as today’s official ZTE Axon 9 Pro render reveals pretty much everything we need to know about the handset’s design.
At first glance, we must say this thing looks a tad generic, resembling the vast majority of high-enders out there (and a growing number of mid-rangers too) with a wide screen cutout, generous “chin”, narrow side bezels, vertically-arranged dual rear cameras, and a circular fingerprint scanner also mounted on the back.
It’s hard to be certain of this just by looking at a press-friendly render, but the Axon 9 Pro seems to adopt a shiny all-glass construction that’s grown in mainstream industry popularity of late.
Bottom line, for its grand comeback, it looks like ZTE will play its cards relatively safe, essentially following every modern trend you can imagine. Then again, the company has been dropping hints about 5G innovations too, so what if the Axon 9 ends up being the world’s first smartphone (theoretically) capable of next-gen download speeds? By the way, we’re also curious to see how the Axon 9 Pro will differ from the non-Pro variant. Only a little over a week to go...
