Xiaomi to release 4G smartphones as soon as possible

Xiaomi saw a meteoric rise in the last years, currently being China’s third-largest smartphone vendor - ahead of Apple, ZTE, Huawei and other older handset makers. The company intends to ship at least 60 million smartphones this year, including the first models with 4G connectivity.

According to Focus Taiwan, Xiaomi president Bin Lin said that 4G-capable Xiaomi handsets would hopefully be launched “as soon as possible.” While Bin Lin didn’t provide more details about this, we assume that one of the company’s upcoming 4G LTE smartphones will be the rumored Xiaomi Mi3S. The Mi3S should be based on Android KitKat, offering high-end specs like a quad-core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1080p display, and an 8MP front-facing camera.

As previously reported, a 4G version of the affordable Red Rice / Hongmi smartphone (pictured above) might also arrive later this year.

Back in April, Xiaomi announced its expansion in new markets, including India, Brazil, and some European countries. The company doesn’t have plans to enter the US market yet (or, if it does, it’s keeping them secret for now).

Exactly they're not apple who charges $80-$100 extra for moving up from 16gb to 64gb instead they only charge $40 which is pretty sweet.

Given that the Mi3 dropped in price some more to 241$ ,chances are something new is imminent.

I want this phone in the US for the specs it has mainly and also with how affordable it is. It might bring more companies to realize it is great competition out there and make more affordable phones as well.

Xiaomi is too popular to buy the latest flagship product. Even if it is available the price must be very high. Maybe purchasing xiaomi 3 is a good choice then you can choose kinds of accessories and repair parts which cost small money. Dragon-T ( dragon-tt.com ) is a good shop where you can buy original and cheap repair parts including mi4 related products.
