Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 leaks out in alleged live image revealing updated design
Back in September of last year, Xiaomi announced the second-generation of its bezel-less smartphone, the Mi Mix 2, which was followed in March by an updated version dubbed the Mi Mix 2s. Now, though, in what seems to be the first live image, Xiaomi’s third-generation Mix 3 has appeared, showing off a streamlined design.

Unlike previous Mi Mix devices that have favored razor-thin top and side bezels and a slight chin down below, the Mi Mix 3 looks set to switch things up slightly by boasting bezels that are equally as thin all around, giving the appearance of a higher screen-to-body ratio. However, because of this, there doesn’t appear to have been enough room in the bottom bezel to fit a selfie camera, as seen on previous devices. In fact, upon inspection of the image, no front-facing lens can be spotted anywhere, suggesting Xiaomi may have adopted the techniques shown off by Vivo and Oppo that consist in a pop-out module for the sensor.

In regards to the rear of the smartphone, no images of the back panel have leaked as of yet, although the device is expected to resemble the Mi Mix 2S. This means a ceramic build should make a return alongside a vertical camera setup in the top corner that may boast two 12-megapixel sensors and a dual-tone LED flash. On an added note, the rear fingerprint scanner will likely be present once again.

As with most 2018 flagship models, the Mi Mix 3 should ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 on the inside and may be coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Furthermore, considering the smartphone isn’t expected till later in the year, Android 9.0 P should be expected straight out of the box along with the MIUI custom interface.
For now, Xiaomi is yet to make any official statement related to the upcoming smartphone but considering last year’s Mi Mix 2 made its official debut in September, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Mi Mix 3 follow the same schedule.

Looks good but Meizu 16 looks better.

Meizu 16 has bigger top and bottom chins than this, more like S8/S9. While Vivo, Oppo have taken the game to a whole new level.

Just need to put an OLED screen in it and it'll be perfect

Not everyone wants an oled screen. At least I don't.

Because the screen on my Mix2 is excellent and one of the highest rated lcd's around.

Sure, not everyone, but definitely the majority, thus why almost all OEMs are moving to OLED technology, and why OLED TVs are the most expensive and rated the best within their class.

True but micro led is the future. It has all the benefits of OLED without the shortcomings. More OEM's should be investing in micro led.

Most OEM's are also moving to notches too. Does that mean it's better? To each his own. The Mix2 screen is already excellent.

Yeah because the argument of having a notch is exactly the same as having an advanced technology like OLED.

It is. The original idea for the notch was to house the front camera and various sensors whilst maximizing screen space. Some companies like Xiaomi opted for a different solution for the Mix2. The same thing they did with their choice of screen. Just because it's newer or more advanced doesn't make it better because practicality is also important.

So it's more advanced yet it's not better? Lmao Dude, Xiaomi didn't go with Amoled because it's still more expensive than LCD, but now they're going with Amoled, and they have already used it on the Mi 8. You'll find a way to defend it once they use it on the next Mix 3 ;)

Why do you find that concept strange? An F-22 Raptor is more advanced than an A10 Warthog but it's certainly not better or more practical. Do you own or even seen a Mix2? Because the lcd is regarded as one of the best around. Yes, cost was a factor but they got it right. The screen type is way down my list in choosing a phone.

I hope this is genuine. I've been waiting for symmetry which this appears to have. I hope they also release a variant with in-display fingerprint sensor. If so, they've got my money.

I'll probably be buying it to replace my Mix2 but hope they put at least a 4000mah battery in it. Not that the current one is bad but you can never have enough juice.

Clock widget looks familiar like I've seen it somewhere.

Probably you've seen it in S9's screen?

I have to admit, that looks perfect. Especially since I'm on Verizon and the mix 1 & 2 actually work on verizon, so it would stand to reason that the 3 would as well. I'd like to see a big battery too (3500mah at least) and a 6" screen.

I own both the 2 & 2S, love these notchless phones. Camera on 2S is great. Dolby sound for the speakers would be fantastic. Better glass would be great as well. Love the ceramic build. Great phones!!
