Will you be getting a new Google Nexus phone?

Google has officially announced its usual fall media event where the new Nexus phone gets announced, setting it for September 29th at noon EDT. We are expecting not one, but two new Nexus phones, a new Chromecast dongle, and more details on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow rollout plans.

An LG-made Nexus should be named the Nexus 5X. This model is expected to come with a 5.2-inch LCD screen, carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution. A Snapdragon 808 SoC would be driving the handset, with a hexa-core 1.8GHz CPU, and the Adreno 418 GPU. The leaked specs include 2 GB of RAM inside along with your choice of 32 GB or 64 GB of native storage. A 13 MP rear-facing snapper (with OIS) adorns the back, while the selfies and video chats are covered by the front-facing 5 MP camera. Keeping the phone running is the job entrusted to the 2700mAh battery, and the handset is expected to come in black, white and mint colors.

In a surprise twist, it's Huawei that has reportedly been chosen by Google to make the true Nexus flagship this year, codenamed as Nexus 6P. Contrary to what you might expect, it will likely be sporting a 5.7", not a 6" display, with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. A Snapdragon 810 SoC is alleged for under the hood, featuring an octa-core 2GHz CPU and the Adreno 430 GPU. The Google Nexus 6P would feature 3 GB of RAM, along with 32 GB of internal storage. The camera duo weighs in at 13MP and 8MP, respectively, and a hearty 3500 mAh battery is onboard the metal phone to power you for a whole day or two.

Both phones are said to sport front-facing stereo speakers, rounding up two pretty compelling offerings that will be the first phones to ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. This is why we wanted to ask you if you are considering to get one of those two puppies, and which one would you get. Tell us which in the poll below, and then why in the comments.

Will you be getting a new Google Nexus phone?

Both LG and Huawei Nexus are not enough impressive for this year

Battery life has been a struggle for most manufacturers this year, regardless of new chipsets. Seems like everyones focus was on cameras this year.

Except for Sony recently The Z5 looks promising (fix camera software and 810 overheat) But I'm waiting to see if they can deliver on their promise of fast updates

Agree, my Z2 got 5.1.1 in July. Amazing considering Sony's poor track record.

Yeah, Sony is really dedicated to updates.

Agreed, This year as a whole has been promising But there's still no phone that doesn't have any compromises I'm sticking with my Nexus 5 for another year

Also they both ruined the design, the RAM seems insufficient in 5X and so does the battery.

Specs are too outdated and no 128gb option.

6P will probably have a 128GB version.

It's pretty much a crappy lineup so no.

Imo HTC and Samsung Nexus was best in that time.. With latest specs and cheaper price.. Nexus are no more impressive for me.. May be again if Htc, Samsung or Sony make..

You're right about latest specs But wrong about cheaper price The HTC and Samsung Nexus had flagship prices Only the LG Nexus have had cheaper price

I like both designs very much but there is nothing interesting about those phones, no selling point or anything

The 5X is tempting, but my Nexus 5 2013 still works more than well enough and is only a year old.

Maybe Huawei's one cause the LG's is really bad in comparison with this year flagships.

While I do like the idea of the Nexus devices, the SoCs used are a definite no. I'll hold on to my Xperia Z1 a little longer, til the SD820 devices start popping up.

Yes, the 800 in the Z1 is doing pretty well even with Lollipop 5.1.1

Performance seems to be a lot better than under 5.0.2 which wasn't smooth at all.

only if there's a 64GB version for the nexus 5X. I dont mind 808 and 2GB of ram coz stock android is less resource hungry unlike Touchwiz or LG's skins.

Following information given by Artem Russakovskii from AndroidPolice the 5X will have 16GB and 32GB option and the 6P 32GB, 64GB and 128GB.
