Google has officially announced its usual fall media event where the new Nexus phone gets announced, setting it for September 29th at noon EDT. We are expecting not one, but two new Nexus phones, a new Chromecast dongle, and more details on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow rollout plans.
LG Nexus 5X color options
An LG-made Nexus should be named the Nexus 5X. This model is expected to come with a 5.2-inch LCD screen, carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution. A Snapdragon 808 SoC would be driving the handset, with a hexa-core 1.8GHz CPU, and the Adreno 418 GPU. The leaked specs include 2 GB of RAM inside along with your choice of 32 GB or 64 GB of native storage. A 13 MP rear-facing snapper (with OIS) adorns the back, while the selfies and video chats are covered by the front-facing 5 MP camera. Keeping the phone running is the job entrusted to the 2700mAh battery, and the handset is expected to come in black, white and mint colors.
In a surprise twist, it's Huawei that has reportedly been chosen by Google to make the true Nexus flagship this year, codenamed as Nexus 6P. Contrary to what you might expect, it will likely be sporting a 5.7", not a 6" display, with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. A Snapdragon 810 SoC is alleged for under the hood, featuring an octa-core 2GHz CPU and the Adreno 430 GPU. The Google Nexus 6P would feature 3 GB of RAM, along with 32 GB of internal storage. The camera duo weighs in at 13MP and 8MP, respectively, and a hearty 3500 mAh battery is onboard the metal phone to power you for a whole day or two.
Both phones are said to sport front-facing stereo speakers, rounding up two pretty compelling offerings that will be the first phones to ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. This is why we wanted to ask you if you are considering to get one of those two puppies, and which one would you get. Tell us which in the poll below, and then why in the comments.
