WhatsApp reveals monetization plans, new set of business tools launched
Facebook has just confirmed to plans to start monetizing WhatsApp by offering a new set of features to customers who need more powerful tools to communicate. Even though the company launched WhatsApp Business early this year, it looks like many consumers want a much quicker and easier way to chat with a business than making a call or sending an email.

So, going forward, WhatsApp is making available the following feature to those who want to connect with a business:

  • Request helpful information: When you need a shipping confirmation or boarding pass, you can give your mobile number to a business on their website, on their app, or in their store to send you information on WhatsApp.
  • Start a conversation: You may see a click-to-chat button on a website or Facebook ad to quickly message a business.
  • Get support: Some businesses may provide real-time support on WhatsApp to answer questions about their products or help you resolve an issue.

Apparently, businesses will have to pay to send certain messages, which should make them more selective over what questions and request they'll answer. Moreover, messages will remain end-to-end encrypted and users will be able to block any business with just a tap of a button.

Lastly, Facebook says that it will add more business to WhatsApp in the coming months. Also, more changes may be implemented based on the feedback received after the new tools get into the hands of users.
