Waze calls on Arnold Schwarzenegger to provide voice-over content for the crowd sourced navigagtion app

Waze, the crowd sourced navigation and traffic app owned by Google, posted a tweet on Sunday hinting that it would announce a new celebrity voice for the service on Monday. Considering that the hand holding the iPhone in the picture that accompanied the tweet is wearing the California governor's ring, it seems a safe bet to say that Arnold Schwarzenegger has done some voice-overs for the app.

Waze users will hear Arnold giving some turn-by-turn navigation directions and some of his most famous movie lines will be used on the app such as "Hasta la vista, Baby." Surely we will hear Arnold saying "I'll be back," and "It's not a tumor." It took only an hour for the actor and politician to get all of his lines in the can.

Waze is expected to start rolling out the update with Arnold's voice on Monday. It is being released just in time to promote the new Terminator Genisys film which opens on July 1st.

Almost exactly two years ago, Google purchased Waze for $966 million. While some features of Waze have been integrated into Google Maps, the app has been run independently by the Waze team in Israel.
