Watch OnePlus 5 launch livestream here

Update: The OnePlus 5 is now offical! We have all the details covered here.

The OnePlus 5 is coming. After weeks of teasing the upcoming flagship phone by the company that promises to 'Never Settle', we now have an official confirmation and a launch date: June 20th.

The new OnePlus 5 is expected to continue on the path of refinement for OnePlus.

The company is known for selling unlocked phones for great prices without going to carriers. Its devices are unlocked and free to use, and usually come with the best specs you can get.

The OnePlus 5 will be no exception: while it is expected to cost more than the OnePlus 3T, it's still to be much more affordable than similar phones from Apple and Samsung. It is rumored to get the powerful Snapdragon 835 system chip, the same one used on the Galaxy S8, and it is also expected to adopt a new dual camera system. The one feature that OnePlus has settled not to have, though, is the trendy bezel-less display that many other phones come with. At least this is what the rumors tell us.

The OnePlus 5 launch event starts on June 20th at 12 PM Eastern Time | 9 AM Pacific Time.

Nice. Will be watching the OP5 unveiling. Though not a fan of it's iPhone rip-off design... I mean, if I wanted what looks like an iPhone, then I'll buy an iPhone. But OnePlus has always been riping-off designs , anyways.

The USP of Oneplus earlier was crazy value for top/mid tier specs. If they push the pricing again , it'll definitely affect the consumers decision quite a bit as it wont be that wide a gap in pricing between this and the top tier manufacturers.

All prices have gone up. It's called "inflation." Galaxy and iPhone cost $600 in 2015. Now $800 in 2017. Oneplus is going from $400 to $500 so the margin is actually about the same if not bigger. Though it does leave room for other phones to undercut the Oneplus unlike before at a $350-450 price point (come on Moto X4!).

Yeah , but then in 2015 when Oneplus 2 was 350 and Galaxy S6 was 650. There was a significant price bracket divide. Today if you price the OP5 @ 500 - 550 , you might as well spend a couple hundred $ more . Consumers will definitely look it at that way because for many normal non tech people brand value also matters. They'd rather get a recognised popular brand over a relatively unknown entity.

US inflation was 0.1% in 2015 and 1.3% in 2016...

That's false. The iPhone starting price gas stayed at $650 for many years now

You can't believe the specs they listed. They have a disclaimer in red text that says the specs listed there are based on rumors.
