The unique 'Lunar Ring' dual screen design of the Vivo Nex 2 leaks in closeups
The era of parroting Apple with wide notches is over for Chinese phone makers, it seems, as they moved to waterdrop ones, then slider designs and, last but not least, they are now in the dual-screen phone category, removing the need for a front-facing camera altogether.
An upcoming phone in that last category which for now only has the Nubia X as an entrant, is the Vivo NEX 2, a successor to the one that sort of pioneered the true "all-screen" field by having a pop-up selfie camera onboard, thus negating the requirement for a thicker top bezel to fit one. In addition to its 6.4" OLED screen at the front, however, Vivo will be slapping a 5.5" second screen on the back of the phone to look yourself up while taking a selfie with the superior rear camera set.

Superior it is, as, besides the selfie-snapping kit with 16 LED-strong 'Lunar Ring' around it, the NEX 2 will also sport add a 3D-sensing time-of-flight sensor, just like on the R17 Pro, and, rumor has it, on the Galaxy S10 5G model. If you want to see how the elevated 'Lunar Ring' area looks like from up close and personal, revealed by leakster Ice Universe, take a peek below.
Next in the slideshow are pictures of some of the 250 prototypes that Vivo made to reach the final design, and, apparently, the elevated circle on the serve aesthetic purposes only. Vivo is just about to unveil this puppy so we can't wait to preview its selfie chops.
